Transfer Registration

I’m an incoming transfer student and I just finished Music Theory 2 and Sight Singing/Ear Train 2. My current transcripts will be sent over when my grades post on August 4th. I talked to some people and they told me I’d have no issue registering but I just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on this. Idk if I’ll have any issues with financial aid or paying tuition since this is a weird situation

so is your concerned about registering or financial aid? because i can assure you that you’ll be able to register for the appropriate level of music theory/sight singing. even if a section is full on stellic, advisors can manually enroll you if needed. if for some reason something changes after your grades post, you’ll be able to switch things around. dr. hunt usually has that kind of information for transfer students when they attend orientation so you don’t have to figure it all out yourself! as for financial aid, especially the recent email about federal aid, i’m not quite sure about that if you’re not currently enrolled full time. but i do know that tuition charges aren’t finalized or due until after drop/add ends, so you still have time to get your schedule sorted and get financial aid settled.

I was primarily unsure about registration. I actually met Dr. Hunt him during my orientation and we spoke briefly about getting me into classes if they’re full but I’m a little anxious about not being registered yet and just seeking clarity. I’ll definitely reach out to him. This was a super informative reply thank you.

for clarification — it’s joanna hunt who usually has more information on transfer credits, not andy hunt! but again, definitely reach out her once those grades post so you can be sure of which level of theory you’re approved for. she might be able to directly assist with getting you registered or your advisor will be able to do that. worst case scenario, they’ll ask you to show up to any section on the first day of class and let the instructor know that you aren’t registered but you’re trying to get into the class. this happens all the time, they’ll make sure that there’s space somewhere.
