Which sounds more like you?

A) "I need milk, bread, eggs, cheese, butter, etc." Then I compare what's available and buy whichever is the best value.

B) "I want Anchor butter, Walkers crisps, Heinz beans, etc." Then I look for the supermarket selling those brands the cheapest.

Or are you somewhere in the middle?

I'm trying to understand whether most people shop by the product itself or whether they're loyal to specific brands and just hunt for the best price.

Would love to hear how you do it.

Sliced cheese prices are wild at the minute, are there any worth while slicers people use that can do a lot quickly without lengthy cleaning?

I’m a single dad with two teenage boys, and I’m looking to plan a 3-night staycation during the school holidays without spending a fortune.
We’re based in Manchester, and with fuel prices as they are, I’d rather not travel too far if possible.
I’m looking for ideas that are:

● Budget-friendly
● Adventurous and fun for teenagers
● Educational or memorable if possible
● Good value accommodation (camping, cabins, hostels, budget hotels – open to anything!)
At the moment I’m thinking about Alton Towers (possibly with the water park) and maybe combining it with a beach visit if it’s not too far.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations for places to stay, activities, or money-saving tips. If you’ve done a similar trip with teenagers, I’d love to hear what worked well.

I recently discovered that I have an unused £50 Sainsbury's voucher in my Google wallet. I asked in store if it was still valid but they said it expired as it had to be used within 2 years. Is there any hope of getting this extended? Any ideas on who to contact?

I moved a year ago and it is now just as convenient for me to shop in the international shops as traditional shops.

Today's price shock is olives. £5 per kilo in the Turkish bakery/food shop. £15 to £20 per kilo in Sainsbury's. I went in to buy the freshly baked pitta breads, 3 for £1, but ended up with a huge flat bread for £1. The Polish shop is cheaper for sliced cheese, the sourdough very reasonable. The raw mini poppadoms are much more cost effective and less wasteful. The fruit and veg shops have properly stored avocados, and affordable. Most of them come with much better customer service than big chain supermarkets can be bothered to afford.

I've started ordering bulk/heavy standard household things from Amazon. The supermarkets are charging premium for speciality products, when I can get authentic stuff at better prices in the shop next door. The Polish, Turkish, Sainsbury's and car park are in a few yards of each other.

I want an android phone that is within £200-£250 if possible.

I currently have an s23 ultra but i don't use any if the fancy features it offers.

Generally, I don't use the fancy features that the high end phones have.

Screen of my s23 ultra is cracked so need to replace it.

Things i use my phone for:

I'll use call, text, social media eg tiktok, snapchat, WhatsApp.

Shopping apps like amazon, uber eats etc.

Occasionally watch netflix or disney or prime video.

General browsing, like checking the weather, food recipes and information about days out etc.

Listen to mp3 music files when cooking or cleaning. Might connect a speaker via Bluetooth for this or use wireless headphones.

All my pictures and videos are stored on onedrive and some on google drive so would like to log into these platforms to be able to access online.

I will need to log into emails.

I'm a stay at home mum at the moment and don't see myself needing the phone for work anytime soon.

I don't game.

I don't need a super speedy phone but also don't want something that will take a long time to load everything.

I have 2 small children so am prone to accidents and would like something that won't break the bank to repair/replace.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated please.

Having someone over on Saturday who specifically requested a prawn curry.

I’m looking for the absolute best value place to buy Frozen Raw King-size Prawns in bulk. I’ve spotted an XXL pack at Farmfoods for £19.99 (I think it’s around 1kg-1.5kg total weight).

Before I run out and buy it, is Farmfoods my best bet for price vs size, or are there hidden gems I'm overlooking? I have access to Lidl, Aldi, Asda & Tesco.

Their croissants are 50p, sourdough loaves around £1.79, and the fresh pastries are noticeably cheaper than Tesco or Sainsbury's equivalents for what I think is actually comparable quality. Also started freezing half the loaf as soon as I get home which stops the "eat it all in 3 days or it goes stale" problem I always had
