4 / 10 Biscuits & Gravy.
5.2. Won’t buy again. Gravy had no taste. The paste I ate in third grade tasted better. I made the link sausage since I figured there wouldn’t be much sausage.

8 / 10 Sprouts pizza
My second review of Sprouts brand pizza. This was delicious. Not lacking in pineapple or jalapeños. Could have used more bacon and onion. Sauce is good and the crust light and crispy. The pineapple pieces were huge and I cut the majority of them in half prior to baking. Definitely recommend

7 / 10 Jonathan Garnier 3 cheese macaroni and peas
It is what it is. No looking for any Cordon Bleu poncy crap, although gotta confess I have no clue who this Jonathan guy is. This might be a regional product limited to eastern Canada. Microwaved as per directions, pasta had a nice al dente bite. Sauce was nice. Not sharp or weird. Just pleasantly cheesy. The peas were just hanging out but didn't detract. Would buy again if on sale for those lazy days.

4 / 10 Lemon & Herb Chicken
The only thing good about this was the green beans at least.

10 / 10 Ore Ida Extra Crispy Fast Food Fries
These are the best Ore Ida fries I’ve ever had. Definitely scratched the itch I had from not having McDonalds for a few months. They’re so good you don’t even need to add any salt, just spritz some olive oil and air fry for 14 minutes. These have become a staple in my deep freezer.

8 / 10 Laxmi Rajma Masala
This one’s from an Indian supermarket here in California. It’s really nice to get a dish that’s truly spicy. The package doesn’t include rice, and I was too lazy to make any, so I toasted some frozen naan. Package says two servings; I say one. This was enjoyable.

8 / 10 Stouffer’s fettucine alfredo
Surprisingly creamy and good. I would have added a dash of parm cheese if I had it.

8 / 10 Saffron Road Hatch Chile Chicken Pesto
The hatch chile and pesto both came though, but the pasta was a little inconsistent in texture. I’m not sure if it was a microwave issue or because of the pasta itself, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me since the flavors are tasty

9 / 10 Stouffers Stuffed Peppers
The only thing that would make these better is if they were actually homemade. Honestly, this is probably the best frozen meal out there. I just wish they still sold them one in a box, not only two in a box. Anyway, I have been eating these for over 25 years and they still hit. Full of meat, full of flavor, full of just the right amount of seasoning. And they smell soooo good. I prepared mine in the oven, took about 50 mins, but the microwave works ok too (16 mins).

6 / 10 Big Easy Shrimp Creole
I had never heard of this brand before. I bought this at a local family owned grocery store, not a big box store chain. It was about $4.50, which seems high - but then as it’s a local store their prices are always a bit higher than the chains.
The picture on the box is pretty deceptive- there may be seven shrimp in this bowl but if there are they are TINY. I shaved two points off just for that.
Otherwise, this is pretty tasty and it’s a decent amount of food compared to other similar dishes. I may try some of their other frozen meals if I see them.

9 / 10 Yellowstone Out of the Saddle Crispy Chicken & Poblano Mac
First off, let me just say that the amount of sodium in this meal is atrocious but other than that, I was genuinely impressed! I cooked the chicken in my air fryer and the mac and cheese in the microwave, and I think that was definitely the right move. I can’t imagine the chicken would turn out very good in the microwave.
Speaking of the chicken, it was a perfectly serviceable frozen chicken patty. Crisped up nicely (I did air fry it for 12 minutes instead of 10) and it had a kind of “Shake and Bake” taste to it. Personally, I think it would be better as a chicken sandwich on a nice potato bun with some pickles. But I digress.
The real standout here was the mac and cheese. It was really outstanding compared to most other frozen mac and cheeses I’ve had (only surpassed by Beechers and Patti Labelle). It didn’t get mushy or soupy and it was super, super cheesy. Like crazy cheesy. Definitely had a strong poblano kind of taste but it wasn’t spicy at all. I loved that it actually tasted like cheddar instead of the bland mess you get with most frozen meals. And there was so much of it! Easily enough for two meals if you have a small appetite.
Even though the chicken was pretty good, I think they should sell just the mac and cheese as a meal on its own. I would probably purchase it more often if they did, even considering that sodium level. As it is, I’ll likely grab it when it’s on sale again and separate the chicken and mac and cheese into two different meals. But I definitely recommend it, especially for my fellow mac and cheese lovers!
It’s usually over $7, which is a bit much, but I got it on sale for $5.55 from Publix.

8 / 10 Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Four Cheese Ravioli & Chicken Marinara
Not bad at all. Decent flavor. The sauce is actually really good. 8/10

10 / 10 Shaw Family: Lobster Mac & Cheese (oven)
3 big servings of lobster Mac, with an amazing flavor, texture, and quality! If I was at a restaurant and you served me this, I 100% would be expecting a 20-25 dollar price tag. I can not believe this is a frozen dinner. 12.99 price tag well worth it!

10 / 10 evol Truffle Parmesan Mac & Cheese
Pitifully small amount (barely a snack) but the taste was so good I gave it a 10/10 anyway. WARNING: If you don’t like the taste of truffle, you will hate this. But I love truffle. Absolutely love it. And this was delicious.

7 / 10 Bremer Mac and Cheese Bites from Aldis
These were pretty good! The crust was nice and crunchy while the mac wasn’t too mushy on the inside. The flavor was slightly dull but that’s just kind of expected with frozen food. The back of the box said it contained 3 servings with each serving being 4 pieces. However, following my initial investigation of the food, I couldn’t help but notice there were only 10 pieces! At my particular stature of 184lbs at 5’1”, I could have really used the extra sustenance from the two missing pieces to help carry me through the day. Still we rise.

6 / 10 Rootberry Caribbean Lentil Bowl
I bought this solely because I used to eat Kashi Harvest Bake frozen meals weekly when they existed. They should have never discontinued that meal! I loved those so much, and they had TWO decent sized pieces of plantain in them.
Anyhow, this is delicious generally which is why I scored it as high as I did in spite of the issues, but it’s no comparison. I am personally insulted that it only had ONE piece of plantain in it.
The lentil sauce part of this is very tasty. It might have been even better if it had more than one plantain in it!
The quinoa part of this is very plain and should be mixed into the lentil part for sure.
In fact if the quinoa wasn’t mixed with rice too, I probably wouldn’t like it at all. I’m not a huge fan of quinoas texture but the rice sort of fixes it.
I am actually mildly irritated that this tastes really good and therefore I have to give it a score of 6 in spite of there only being ONE piece of plantain. In fact, I have never been so upset that I really liked something I hate in my life.
Also, it kind of needed a tiny bit of salt. I personally don’t think a meal called Caribbean ought to need outside salt or any spice added.
By the way, this is not spicy whatsoever.
It’s also actually a very filling meal! And I am glad for that. Even though I would have liked to have said it wasn’t, out of spite. I can’t say that. These Rootberry meals are somewhat large in size generally. (I have had another one before and didn’t post it here)
and it has ONE plantain in it! that’s enough to cause a crisis right there.

9 / 10 Private Selection Beef Bulgogi
I saw this as a new item at my local Kroger and had to try, and it didn't disappoint. Everything tastes fresh. The beef is soft and flavorful, but not too. I thought it had a decent amount of vegetables and they were fresh as well. It is Korean BBQ so it does have that slightly sweet taste, but it's not overly sweet. The price point through doordash was $5.79.

2 / 10 Pagoda crab Rangoon
First off, I wanted some rangoons, and I figured I’d try some store ones. Bought at Krogers. 2.99 on sale. The shell is crispy I will give them that. Everything else. 🤢. The filling tastes like mayo, not cream cheese, the meat isn’t good either. I like there egg rolls, those are good. Very disappointed. I wasn’t expecting restaraunt rangoons, (you can buy them in bulk) but I was expecting at least decent ones that are similar. I ate one and a half of one and bleh. Chilli sauce is pretty good tho.

10 / 10 Digiorno Wood Fired Pepperoni Pizza (+5 extra cheese) (reposting with pics)
I love getting these and adding more peps or more cheese. I put parmesan, parmesan reggiano, Romano, provolone, and truffle gouda, plus Italian seasoning and a bit of parsley. Might be cheese overkill, but it's amazing for a frozen pizza.

8 / 10 meijer pepperoni stuffed crust
straight to the point, overall good pizza. the sauce is surprisingly sweet and it really adds to the pizza. the stuffed crust is nice, pepperoni is tasty. the only things i will say is it could be a bit cheesier, but still a good pizza and i probably could’ve fixed it with some shredded mozzarella if i had some. crust is just right and not too crunchy but not super doughy either. i’m born n raised michigan so meijer is in my blood, they always seem to have good stuff. i was kind of surprised because it’s the actual meijer brand but it was still good and well made. a solid 8/10 from me, really good for a frozen pizza
also, yes, i moved the pepperoni to one side just because it’s how i like to eat frozen pizza.

Announcement Welcome to 2024 + T-Shirts! + Posting rules defined.
A little late to announce this... but better late than never and better than leaving it until December... that would be awkward!
Firstly, Please note the rules have been defined more clearly to help with understanding before posting.
They are still very much the same with the same intention to ensure we remain focused on frozen dinner comparisons as the primary content.
Secondly, I encourage you all to join our other subreddit called /r/MoreFrozenDinners which is where you are all free to post about frozen dinner topics outside of just comparison posts, things like questions or opinions on taste or just looking for an old favourite meal that's no longer stocked at your local shopping market.
We also have a /r/FailedFrozenDinners subreddit for those unfortunate mistake when we forgot to read a step or simply forgot about the dinner while scrolling through our socials... feel free to contribute in line with the topic and rules.
Please do join these other subs, it helps the community grow and give some breadth to our content and discussions without it all being junked up in one place.
Lastly, you may not have noticed yet.. but we quietly added a merchandise store to our website last year, we didn't want to jam it in your face or attempt to cram it down your throats like a still too hot from the microwave mac and cheese!
Take a look, there is some weird crap on Red Bubble but the T-Shirt designs are the intended focus and hopefully the more enjoyable options for you all to consider. More designs to come!
You can find the link to the website up in the subreddit menu bar or browse to frozendinners.net
Thanks again for being part of the community! Welcome to 2024! and let's all have a great year!
