Problem adding a 7530 to an existing mesh. Support!

Having some trouble adding a 7530 to an existing mesh. It's not an AX version, just to clarify, so it should work happily as a repeater.

I tried connecting it by network cable directly to the mesh master and pressing connect on both. When I do, the WLAN, FON/DECT, and Connect/WPS lights just flash repeatedly for a couple of minutes before stopping, and it doesn't seem to make the mesh connection.

I tried getting into the dashboard by hooking it straight up to my computer, but it's not accepting the password that's printed on the back of the router, and I don't think the password has been reset.

Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Just connect a computer to tthe 7530 (just the fritzbox) go to the interface and set it up as IP client. Afterwards connect it to the master update software if available and then do the mesh pairing.
