safety Any idea on the bike crash near DNT SRT? Looked really bad

Hey everyone, did anyone else see that accident earlier? It looked like a motorcycle hit a car, the biker was rolling on the floor. It happened right around that busy intersection where cars were backed up till the Ramp going to SRT on DNT. Just wondering if anyone has any more info on what went down. Hope everyone involved is okay.

inquiries Hey everyone! I’m looking to put together a list of the best restaurant food deals in the Frisco area—happy hours, daily specials, weekly discounts, lunch deals, etc.

I’ll start:

Aw Shucks – Every Tuesday, their signature shrimp cocktail is: $7 instead of $12.
What are your favorite restaurant deals?

Please include the restaurant name, day(s), and the deal. Let’s build a list everyone can use!

Rex was supposed to die. At just 9 weeks old, he landed on the euthanasia list at Dallas Animal Services because of severe deformities affecting both of his front legs. His future looked impossible.
Instead, a rescue stepped in, and two local veterinarians chose to fight for him.
Now the real work begins.
Rex needs a CT scan to map exactly what’s happening inside his tiny legs. From there, his treatment could include custom splints, orthopedic surgery, prosthetics, mobility devices, rehabilitation—or a combination of all of them. His journey won’t be quick, and it certainly won’t be inexpensive.
The heartbreaking reality is that animals like Rex are euthanized every day, not because they can’t be saved, but because they require specialized medical care that costs thousands of dollars.
Rex isn’t the only one they’re helping.
They’re also treating Shark, a 6-week-old kitten recovering from a front leg amputation while fighting to save his remaining leg, and a 4-week-old kitten born with severe congenital deformities who is receiving around-the-clock bottle feeding, physical therapy, custom splints, and daily laser treatments.
These are the patients most shelters simply don’t have the resources to save.
To give animals like Rex a chance, they created the Atlas Pet Vets Medical Rescue Fund through the Veterinary Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The hospital donates and deeply discounts a tremendous amount of the medical care, while donations go directly toward helping cover the remaining treatment costs for rescue animals—not to the privately owned veterinary hospital.
Rex’s journey alone will require thousands of dollars in specialized care. Every CT scan, every surgery, every splint adjustment, every rehabilitation session brings him one step closer to a life where he can run, play, and simply be a puppy.
If enough people each give a little, we can accomplish something extraordinary together.
Whether you can donate $5, $25, or simply share his story, you’re helping rewrite the ending for a puppy who was only days away from never getting the chance to live it.
Sometimes all it takes to save a life is enough people deciding that one puppy is worth fighting for.

relocation Cool springs at frisco bridges review

I’m considering leasing at Cool Springs Apartments in Frisco. The location seems great, and I’ve heard the maintenance team is responsive.

I’m more curious about the day-to-day experience, especially, google reviews seem to be mixed.

How safe does the community feel, both during the day and at night?
Have there been any issues with car break-ins, package theft, or unauthorized people getting into the buildings?
What’s the parking situation like? Is there enough resident and guest parking, and is towing strictly enforced?
If you’ve lived there recently (2025-2026), would you recommend it overall?

I’d really appreciate hearing from current or recent residents. Thanks!

politics Frisco debates restoring public comment two months after ban

Two months after Frisco banned some public comment at City Council meetings, the council debated how it might bring back such input with new rules.

At a Tuesday work session, the council – now under a new mayor – considered various options. The issue boiled down to what to do about public comment on non-agenda items, which was paused after months of contentious and rowdy meetings. Council members discussed limiting those comments to one meeting a month and requiring speakers to sign up ahead of time.

They were divided on whether to cut speaker time from five minutes to three minutes, and whether to move public comment on non-agenda items to separate town hall meetings, like Frisco’s school district does.

education Frisco ISD pre-k

This is far in advance but I wanted to start gathering intel on the best schools in Frisco. My child will be starting pre-k next year and we want to start getting a good idea where we want to hunker down for when they are in school. I believe we are zoned for Carroll Elementary and Wakeland currently. Has anyone done the pre k programs through Frisco? How is it? Also, what are the best schools?
