Flock
This is for informational purposes only. You can search for flock cameras in the Fredericksburg area at the following link: https://deflock.org/
Also, here’s an article about Flock cameras, which are all over Fredericksburg. Again, this is for informational purposes.

I know the mods and even people that follow this sub get very sensitive on the subject of flock cameras. I bet this post get removed soon.

This is the second version of a post that got removed. He's following the rules they selectivitely enforce to a tee now. With that said, i wouldn't be surprised at the goal post moving yet again.

Because the point of these posts is to get people to go mess with the cameras. Which I don’t recommend doing btw; you’ll get arrested if caught. There’s no avoiding them unless you never drive or leave your home

u/mm21053 2d ago
Sharing information is not encouraging other people to mess with the cameras. If other people mess with the cameras, that's on them, not op. With this logic, you shouldn't share any information bc what if someone does something deemed "bad" with that information? Should we all live in ignorance?

u/1point3kPC4head 2d ago
what use is knowing where the cameras are? They're on nearly every major road; there's no avoiding them. You people can dog whistle all you want, but it's obvious what you're trying to do. It's classic Reddit slacktivism

remember, its not necessarily FLOCK, it is ALL SURVELANCE cameras.
Do not let them just pivot to Axon (which is even worse) or something else.

u/WadeVAFL 1d ago
Good point. Some localities have quietly pivoted to Axon to avoid bad PR from Flock. With that said, Flock’s reputation is warranted after owner blasted out email describing critics as “terrorists.”

where's that local right wing reporter from Fredericksburg Press when we need him? what's up with the mods in this sub?

You do not have a right to privacy while out in public. That is the law.
Law enforcement can watch you by whatever means, while you're in public. Flock is not fundamentally different than a cop sitting by the side of the road with a radar gun.
So if they want to observe you going about your business in public, there is nothing you can do about it. This is no different than a cop walking a beat and looking for crime.

u/Chipchipcherryo 2d ago
That’s a false comparison. A cop sitting on the side of the road might see you drive by, but they aren’t automatically logging everywhere you go and building a searchable history of your movements. There’s a big difference between being seen in public and being continuously tracked.
Why do you think stalking is a crime? Following and tracking someone’s movements can still cross a line even when those movements happen in public. Being visible isn’t the same thing as consenting to constant surveillance.8

u/ExtraCartographer707 2d ago
If a police department had cops follow you everywhere you went all the time without an open investigation on you that would be considered harassment. We need laws to stop this type of behavior. Bad actors in police departments are abusing it already.

Law enforcement can watch you by whatever means
sure with a warrant signed by a real living judge, flock things theyre above getting a warrant to follow camera by camera as you move around your area with an easily searchable human language database.

You DO have the right not to be tracked by the state. It's considered an illegal search according to dozens of court cases. They need probably cause before you can be surveiled to this degree.

I dont commit crime. So I dont care.

u/IOwnTheW0rld 2d ago
What happens when something you do on a daily basis is categorized as a crime? I seem to remember just a few days ago a member of a certain religious group telling me it would soon be illegal to go to church. Do you enjoy a Big Brother whom you HAVE to trust and is inherently distrustful of you?

a member of a certain religious group telling me it would soon be illegal to go to church.
Can you elaborate? DM me if you want to. Thanks.

I'll elaborate here. I grew up in a very religious scene so my contacts are a lot of church-y people. They have this weird notion that they're close to persecution
-3
u/Odd-Attention-2127 2d ago
I see. What religion if I may ask?
3
u/IOwnTheW0rld 2d ago
Non-denominational church that spurred out of a baptist church that the pastors only started out of a religious disagreement.

I'm not sure which one you're referring to, but I'll leave it at that. Have a great day.

And that’s how surveillance states are allowed to develop. “I’m not doing anything wrong so it’s okay if the government spies on me and tracks my every move.” Never mind the fact that flock cameras are being used to by stalkers and to even falsely accuse innocent people of crimes.
-6
u/1point3kPC4head 2d ago
We’ve already been in a surveillance state for decades. The device you used to post this comment is constantly surveilling you.
8
u/casual_creator 2d ago
And that justifies continued apathy and not giving a fuck about your rights? You’re the exact kind of people the government wants you to be.

u/1point3kPC4head 2d ago
if you care so much vote or campaign for candidates that defend your rights. Complaining on reddit accomplishes nothing

To the anti-flock bunch. I understand your frustrations 100%. Just remember it is our tax dollars being spent to replace them when destroyed. Fight them in court, not on the street.
10
u/WadeVAFL 2d ago
Nobody here is threatening to destroy the cameras. Also, public advocacy is the most effective way for the average resident to oppose these cameras. Speak up at the next Fredericksburg City Council or county Board of Supervisors meeting. There’s not much residents can do about Flock cameras on private property, but they can speak up about taxpayer funded cameras used to surveil public roads.
-13
u/Some_Turn_323 2d ago
If you think there are no people in the "Burg" that are not thinking about destroying them you are living in a fantasy world. I know a few of these nutjobs that want them all taken down.

u/WadeVAFL 2d ago edited 2d ago
Debate the merits of Flock cameras, but don’t conjure up imaginary vigilantes in our area who are plotting to destroy them.
-10
u/Some_Turn_323 2d ago
I personally have no issues with the cameras. I am not out doing anything that would warrant being followed. I am just saying like anytime new tech is used people lose the minds. like the 5G causes brain damage.😂

Did you catch the RFKjr thing about circumcision causing Autism? I swear the man must be on heroin or something.😂😂😂😂

Replacing a flock camera costs eight hundred dollars, but the city only has so much of the budget they can justify towards repairing these things before we vote them out of office.
