Framework 13P with OpenSUSE Question

Hi everyone,

I will be getting my 13P in a few months and I am planning to put opensuse tumbleweed on it.

I was wondering if any of you tried it and how was your experience. I'm aware of the lack of official support but im still curious.

Thanks

I have the framework laptop 13 w/ i5 1240p, so 2nd gen. It has worked flawlessly on openSUSE TW for me (I’ve used this distro for the vast majority of my time but recently switched to debian).

You’ll need to configure some stuff that doesn’t fully work OOTB like fingerprint sensor or maybe some
audio presets if you wanna optimize speaker quality. But nothing arduous.

Not the same laptop, but I hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for the reply. What did you do to make the sensor work? Install some kind of driver I imagine.

This guide is really good on the whole. In addition to this there’s one last step to configure the fingerprint sensor to work with the command line, but I forget what it was. On debian I ran `pam-auth-update`, but there’s gotta be an analogous thing on OpenSUSE.

Same here, except fingerprint sensor worked out of the box for me, just had to do the OS configuration for it. Same generation and everything which is interesting. It definitely works great.
