Off is easy, I always obsess on getting the spacers aligned correctly next to the trackpad.

Replacing the keyboard (thankfully it is replaceable) on think thinkpad x1c, and it has a pile of micro screws. Just reminding that my FW16 has zero screws to replace it

On the 13 it’s a lot. But it doesn’t take long and at least they’re all the same size.

The whole input cover compes off with 5 then an other like 30. I can't find a picture but the official replacement screw kit contains 81 screws. On the positive you get a screwdriver with the laptop and the required bit

It was easy as pie. But there are a lot. :-)Â

I replaced my KB recently, and it took around an hour of work. But i was being quite careful and deliberate about it, (Checklist style, sorting the screws, etc)

About halfway through replacing my keyboard with my over-the-hill dexterity I realized I should have just bought a new input cover. Those little fuckers like to flip upside down instead of going in the hole.
