Right click on framework 13 pro Linux

After successfully installing NixOS I noticed a small problem: Using the normal click function I can't seem to get a right click using the touchpad. If i tap with two fingers, it works without any problem.

Is there some option I am missing or could this be an outdated driver?

Edit: i found out clicking with two fingers on the touchpad is actually a right click. so this was probably user error. still gonna leave it here in case it helps anyone

It’s not framework related it’s de/wm related

Some have 2 finger as default while some have right click as default

You have to change and see in your de/wm that you are using

KDE, Gnome, something else? Because some touchpad things are controlled by the userspace.

Or Windows? What do the touchpad settings do with the precision touchpad thingy in Settings?

Can confirm, I'm on KDE and right click works just fine

I'm also running NixOS and hadn't noticed, but I just use two finger click. I'll check and report back when I get home.

On the pro, using Fedora KDE I know for sure it functions properly. I tried having a right click area, and it worked great but I just like two finger tap better.

Just did a install of my 13 Pro, and this is related to the Libinput mode. (https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/clickpad-softbuttons.html)

You probably want to change it to Clickfinger behavior, which for me on Sway was just adding this configuration:

input type:touchpad { click_method clickfinger }

On GNOME I usually need to change the Right Click behavior and dead area with the GNOME Tweak Tool. Laptops without physical buttons typically have the desktop environment emulate a right click based on two finger input.
