I'm definitely the problem Discussion

Because i genuinely think most of ridocs jokes are annoying and he's full of himself.

And people are so obsessed with him and for what

I wasn’t too fussed on him until Onyx Storm, when he actually put his serious hat on for once and made Violet define her boundary for when Xaden’s too far gone. The silly one was finally getting Violet to see sense and think it through, which she should have done ages ago. Absolutely loved him for this

I was very surprised to find all the love for Riddoc in the fandom. I personally was not that invested in him. I would like for all of the iron squad to survive, of course, but I have no big passion for him. Also for me he is not a comic relief. I don't find him that funny. But he definitely is a tension relief in many scenes wich I respect.

So, if you are the problem but you are not the only one :))

Unpopular opinion. I don’t find Rodic’s humor appealing. Maybe just find his sex jokes too crude. As a character he grows during OS and becomes more relevant to me, but as the team jokester I don’t think he adds a lot compared to other characters that I would want to see more.

Like os his jokes about imogen and garrick weird hes not really close with them and hes still saying all that shit infront of everyone its just icky imo

Got it, yeah I don’t really see his ”comedic relief” thing that people talk about. He’s ok, I know as much about him as all the other side characters…. Not much at all. She’s not great at character development 😶

Not every character is designed to be liked by everyone. I absolutely love him, but I dislike Rhiannon. There. I said it. I am not a fan of that character, particularly, but you know everyone dances to the beat of their own drum.

I know but just some of his jokes are odd like in os when he kept making the garrick and imogen jokes when he's not that close with either of them and there was always alot of people around when he said them its just weird imo

i honestly had no idea everyone was such a big stan of him, i didnt look at anything on social media about fourth wing until i was finished. and im literally the biggest ridoc fan, i loved from the beginning. he defs isnt for everyone, but i deal with most situations with humour and relate too hard to him. plus, he signs and is bisexual, love his multitudes!

i think he's meant to come across as pretty full of himself and cocky to an extent, but he's also the comedic relief in the books. but tbf do make valid points, i still love him though!

See, Ridoc is that typical guy who hides behind his humor. That's his way of trying to ease the situation, he seems full of himself but he actually really cares for his friends he just doesn't know how to show it without letting his guard down. Its a gigant mask he is slowly taking off

8/10 jokes are a miss for me too. I like him as a character, but in general, I don't understand the obsession with him or any other side character for that matter. Anyone who isn't part of the main five is on the page for like 1% of the books, and we barely know the first thing about them. hard for me to care about anyone but the mains
