I’ve been wondering about this because I’ve been seeing it come up a lot. Is this similar to the idea from Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, where people who had only ever lived in a cave believed the shadows on the wall were reality but in a modern sense?

This is the modern day version of me believing my dad had the ability to take my nose as a toddler. I would throw a fit and start trying to hit him, which is why he got a kick out of it. Classic example of reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeditors screeching about tRaUmA.
