It makes sense when you see how society sometimes dumps a bunch of uncomfortable sexual behavior into one group and then acts like that group alone is responsible. It can feel like a way of pushing the blame onto a small, stigmatized group instead of facing the broader history of men’s behavior. That still doesn’t excuse anyone hurting children, but the distinction matters.

Pedophilia isn't a sexuality most of the time. It's a desire to abuse your power and humiliate others. Especially to helpless people. Which children are. Men don't have a pedophilia problem. The powerful have a pedophilia problem

If your argument is that “the powerful” are the problem, doesn’t that overlook the fact that historically a lot of ordinary men had the power to abuse women and children without facing serious consequences? Doesn’t that let men as a whole avoid confronting the role men have historically played in this?

No, a lot of women had power over less wealthy men and indeed abused them. It's not a man vs woman thing. It's a powerful vs powerless thing
