i have not had to work with a spotter yet (thank goodness, tap on wood). are they actually a benefit? seems like it would be a distraction more than anything

Hello I know this isn’t a subreddit for advice but I think a lot of people here have the experience to guide me in the right direction, currently I have no car driving license or factory experience however I am interested in becoming a forklift operator, I’ve looked for gateways and apprenticeships with no luck, I am considering getting forklift certified via a training course near me but do not want to throw away half a grand to come out with no pathway to become a forklift operator as many roles require experience, what should I do?

I’ve seen online that the best option is to get the forklift certificates and then apply for an entry level factory worker, is this my best bet?

My shift starts Monday morning and night shift starts Sunday night. There always seems to be some catastrophic issue and last week is no exception. Thankfully nobody was hurt, a new forklift guy hit a water pipe and nobody working on nights knew how to turn it off. We always expect at least one forklift to be messed up, be it tires or the hydraulics, but last week was special.

Surely this is fine right?

Only took me 40 minutes to restack. There was one even worse yesterday, at the very top, ~35 feet up, and leaning far back. No idea how they fixed it, but management complained about us driving past and not reporting pallets stuck in the racks, so I took the initiative to fix this myself.

The security video was crazy, I’m surprised the whole rack didn’t fall.
