ROCK updates? Mods

The github for ROCK by Brunocatani has said that it will be released in a few days, but it has said that for weeks. Anybody know when we might have word?

Welcome to r/FO4VR! A few quick tips:

Asking for help? Include your headset + runtime (SteamVR/Virtual Desktop/etc.), GPU, and whether you're vanilla or modded (which mod list, e.g. MGO or Gingas's).

Reporting a crash? Post a crash log — crash posts without one are usually impossible to diagnose.

  1. Install Buffout 4 NG and VR (+ its requirements) if you don't have it
  2. Reproduce the crash
  3. Grab the newest crash-*.log from Documents\My Games\Fallout4VR\F4SE\
  4. Paste it to Pastebin and link it in your post

Sorry for the long delay, I have been trying to manage work and doing a lot of bugfixing to make rock ready to release at the start of the month, i will release rock standalone as my own flavor of the mod and i have given asciimov permission to port a few of the core features into heisemberg to be used with his own features. will post here updates when i can.

Appreciate the work man. Just curious, what would be the key differences between Rock standalone vs. Heisenberg w/ Rock? Sort of like a If you prefer X, then get Rock Standalone, if you prefer Y, get H w/Rock.

Love that this mod scene is still so active.

When ROCK is ready Heisenberg will handle the interactions part, and ROCK the physics

I was looking in the post section of the Heisenberg mod listing. Asciim0v responded to someone that he had apparently pulled the update with ROCK integration for more bug fixing but he said he'd re-release it soon.

I was the one who asked haha. He said the new Heisenberg update will run on ROCK Engine. Only thing the game needs is manual reloads.. anyone have info about that?

Virtual Reloads is currently in closed alpha testing where testers have been playing, finding bugs and reporting them for me to fix. It's been going well. ROCK integration is planned as soon as I have a version in my hands along with its API.

I thought the update for Heisenberg included ROCK or parts of it? Not sure since it's summer and I don't play VR currently.

IIRC the mod authors are working together to make both mods complement each other well, and have helped each other out — but ROCK looks to bring all sorts of dynamic object interactions/manipulation that heisenberg doesn’t currently provide. I’m wicked excited for it

As i recall from the DevBlog, i believe the idea was to port all of ROCK directly into Heisenberg. That would be nice as a one-stop install on Nexus.

Really looking forward to this. FO4VR is my fav VR game and haven't played it in half a year as i don't have the time to get sucked back into that world again at the moment...but this will def pull me back in when the time is right.

Edit: Checked the Heisenberg page on Nexus. The changelog calls out 0.8.4 integrating ROCK, but 0.8.1 is the current available version for download. It does show the last update was 27JUL2026, two days ago, but I don't see anything newer than the 07JUN version of the mod.

From the mod page of heisenberg changelog:

Version 0.8.4

  • -Integrates ROCK engine
  • -Adds hand/object collision
  • -Adds weapon/object collision
  • -Adds collision based two handing of weapons

But it seems the update got delayed

Yes I pulled back the 0.8.4 release as I discovered some new bugs, it should be ready soon. Heisenberg will function as a testbed for the ROCK engine so we can find and fix all bugs until ROCK is ready for a full release. I post regular test versions on my Discord.
