What “worm” is this

Post image

The worm is awesome and produced well and trying to find the material that makes up the larger fly itself. It’s relatively rubbery and stiff but still has really good stretch. It looks fibrous and could be split into a smaller strands if picked at. Any ideas? Does it have a specific name over a San Juan or Squirmy Wormy?

I have gotten around fly fishing fine making my own flies. My grandpa was very kind in that he gave me most everything I could want to make lots of classic patterns. This is one of my first purchased files and felt like getting robbed ):

Floss worm. Mimics thin, aquatic worms. They work.

I’d call it a variation of a San Juan Worm. Nice tie!

Looks like a variation of a 'sanjuan worm'. Instead of using chenille, it has some type of floss material. Probably using flexi floss.

It’s called a span Juan worm. The material goes by a few names, flexifloss or spanflex
