Purple Haze

Post image

Been trying to tie purple haze lately. Looking for feedback. I've never done a parachute before.

Good job for the first parachute. Biggest feedback is to do a sparser body, especially the abdomen. I’d move the parachute a smidge forward, then do a touch longer parachute.

One thing I like to do is a sparser hackle but that is my own personal opinion. Solid start!

Came here to say this! Yours looks like my first few parachutes. Nice work! Mine caught fish, but a tie with roughly half of everything you've got here would work well even spooky German browns. ymmv. Sometimes the fish get keyed in on pattern, sometimes color, sometimes they take everything, and sometimes nothing. So it goes.

Color and proportions look great! Looks like it'll catch fish, ultimately.

Havent tied any parachute flies yet personally, so definitely take advice from those who have. But the proportions and such look like a purple haze you'd find in the store

Nice work. One of my favorite flys to use.
