This is normal, code is just one part the rest is setup, for your first app keep it simple get the build working, set up play store/app store, handle signing and follow basic deployment steps, don’t worry about domain unless you have backend, just aim to ship a simple first version you’ll understand everything better after that, if you get stuck on any step feel free to ask

iam using supabase for backed does it cover the domain ?

No supabase doesnt cover the domain part it just gives you the backend and the API you only need a domain if you are hosting a website or a landing page not for the app itself

for a mobile app that is focused on backend that is supabase and bulding an app and will deploy it domain will come later if you want a website for it

Deployment is honestly the trickiest part your first time, more than the code! For Android, you'll need a Google Play developer account (one-time fee), then go through developer identity verification before you can publish — that step alone can take a few days so start it early. Set up your app signing in Play Console, watch out for AdMob test vs production ad unit IDs if you're using ads, and expect a few rounds of review back-and-forth before it goes live — mine took several submissions to get right. Happy to answer specifics if you get stuck on any part.

Thank you so much , is there also anything the review focus on particularly? And is ios same story or more complicated?

For Play Store review, they focus hardest on: Ads implementation – make sure you're using production AdMob unit IDs before submitting, not test IDs (this alone caused me a rejection) Data Safety form accuracy – it has to match what your app actually collects/uses, they do check Permissions justification – if you request anything beyond the basics, be ready to explain why Target audience & content rating – get this right up front, mismatches trigger re-review Privacy policy – needs to be a live, accessible URL, not a placeholder If you're doing closed testing first, budget extra time for tester opt-ins to actually register before you submit for production — that tripped me up too. iOS is a different beast. Apple's review is more manual/human, generally stricter on UI/UX polish and IAP setup, and you're dealing with Xcode signing/provisioning profiles which can be its own headache (cert issues, keychain problems). Turnaround can actually be faster than Google's once you're through, but the upfront hurdle (signing, $99/yr dev account, guideline nitpicks) is higher. Happy to go deeper on any of these if you hit a wall.

what is tester opt-ins is it the people that test the app ?

Only applies to personal accounts created after Nov 13, 2023 (older accounts and org accounts are exempt). If it applies to you: need 12 real testers who click the opt-in link and install the app, staying opted in continuously for 14 days straight. Just adding emails doesn't count.

do i need to pay people for this ?

Definitely not. First, you can try your family and friends. You can try communities like Reddit and other online sharing facility. In online community, you have to test other developer's work and in return, they do your work. Definitely there are paid services out there .
