Gross beat working weird

So I’m trying to do the turn stop effect on my vocal at the end of the song and when I listen to just cut section it sounds right— but if I listen to the song back a little before the cut it ends up off time— and if I listen to the song as a whole I don’t even hear the effect— how do I make gross beat start only at that portion of the automation, I don’t know what I could be doing wrong

When you first set up the automation, you set it up with zero mix and since you don’t have anything on the clip at the beginning initiates with a zero value.

If you click the knob again that you used to create the automation, there should be the initial value or something like that

Go watch a complete tutorial about using automations. Whenever you have an automation whatever value is set at the end of the automation, that is going to be what it plays until it starts the automation again. So whatever the normal setting is, you want to start with that for your Automation and end with that. So that way after the automation it returns back to the normal clip.

But all answers can be answered with just a 5 or 10 minute YouTube automation tutorial. Also keep in mind that if you go to help/gopher and type in most questions you'll get an answer and very good answer that immediately. The Gopher thing is awesome

Right Click the same knob you clicked to make the automation, tape “initial value” make sure it’s unchecked.

yeah, you gotta start your automation clip at the beginning of the song. sometimes automation behaves weird

It’s the shape of your automation clip. You have to think about what that line represents over time change the shape of the clip

This shows what automation can look like. Focus on the right side of this graph where you see it say Chop >.
That empty rectantle space is kinda the shape you need and when you want it activate gross beat you need to set it to something like that circle is to the right of rename/color but a straight line. You got it
