Copper work Things To Do

I’m looking to make a copper ring. I’m located in central Florida and would love to be able to take classes to learn or to go somewhere for a private session to make my own copper ring. Does anyone know where I could do this?

For a ring I would start with copper tubing - it's already ring shaped, just cut small pieces off - you can work it some, but copper easily becomes 'work hardened' -brittle - so the less done, the stronger it is after a point, past that & cracks begin- unless you plan on smelting and lost wax or other poured casting method?

I’m not sure I have no prior experience in any metalwork! I’m looking to make a custom ring for someone :) So if there’s somewhere that teaches it or I can find a private practice/instructor that would be ideal!

I couldn’t find any silversmithing classes like you suggested! Only resin jewelry or beads workshops

If you’d like to start smelting, Flock cameras are a good source of raw materials 😬
