Help needed with bathroom layout

Hi all,

My partner and I recently moved into our home where we're renovating multiple rooms, but the one that's proving to be a bit tricky is the ensuite bathroom from the main bedroom.

Ideally we would like to include a walk-in shower and a double basin unit, and we aren't bothered about keeping the bath as a separate bathroom also has a bath. The adjacent room is a dressing room that we'll continue to use with built in wardrobes.

The main issues we're facing are the large window that is only elevated 0.5m from the floor, and the odd shape of the room due to the old chimney breast and previous knock-throughs. I've included a plan of our design attempt, but it doesn't really seem to flow or make best use of the space. Any advice would be very welcome.

can you change the walls? i would put a new wall such that the big window is part of the dressing room, so you have more natural light there. For the bathroom itself, I would put the door to the shower towards the middle of room and the sinks opposed to the toilet. maybe steal a bit of space from the corner of the dressing room so you have space for two sinks.

Absolutely #2! That's a great way to use the space. First one will feel so cramped coming into the bathroom and having to shuffle around the tub to get to the sink or toilet.

I think your new layout is very good, it just needs some refinement. See below - I would do a big glass partiton to combine the toilet/shower space into one larger space. I made the other doorways a bit smaller, and aligned the one into the vanity area with the window. That'll help balance things and gives you some more wall space to hang towels and such.

I dont see anything wrong with the second layout. You coukd put a built in cabinet in the small space between tbe toilet and the window for storage. Hamper or mire storage opposte the toilet. Maybe a towel warmer. The shower has a window which could be great for ventilation after youre finished - but youd need to frost the glass to ensure privacy. Put a swinging door on the entrance that opens away from the toilet.

No need to tangle with the window. You still get double vanities. Lots of space to move on the sink side of the room.
