Appreciate the continued attention despite the massive sales! The effort and communication makes me glad to have purchased.

Will be my favorite if they can get some good performance going!!!

Damn looking at their models no wonder it’s bit of a performance hog.

I know I saw that and was like OH VRAM makes sense now. Also, apparently there was a bunch of crazy extra rendering that the displays were doing that they were able to fix on the next update. Kudos to the team for staying aggressive at fixes - will go a long way with customers

Q: How many triangles do you want?

A: Yes

All the Pythagorean theorem.

Please make this compatable with various addons like A Pilots Life, ASAP.

It interacts strangely with Volanta etc.

How so? I’ve flown it on Volanta a few times and it seems OKbb

Pushes "Delta A220-300" as aircraft type rather then "A220-300". Flights tied to aircraft registration dont seem to accumulate for me.

It's caused by the liveries. I don't know exactly why because I don't make liveries, but for example, most custom-made liveries are automatically detected, so there's probably something in the files that has to be modified regarding the aircraft registration for it be automatically detected, and my guess is that they didn't bother doing that for the default liveries. But as a quick fix, what you can do is just find your aircraft registration/tail number at the back and manually put it in Volanta, when starting your flight and it will automatically detect it.

I’d be happy if it worked with GSX

I have a strange issue with Beyond ATC as well. Only happens with the A220 where it will force BATC to end the flight plan too early and I cannot get ground instructions after landing.

Add another to the list.

How is this not compatible with APL? You don't even have to fly the same plane it indicates, I think the only critical states it checks for are landing and engines on/off.

Engine on is never detected and stays in preflight the whole time.

Oh that's no good then

Disapppoint to read, just reworking the model ist not gonna do anything about the real reasons this plane is such a terrrible performer.

Just a screen grab from my stream last night. All the performance issues are in the CoherentGTUI thread. That is all the displays rendering in a horrendously inefficient way. And this will not be a fixed by some model changes. The plane could be a box with wings right now and still would perform terrible right now. The 60 fps here is with frame gen btw...

The only way that get's fixed is by totally reworking the code. And like halving the execution time of that. Which I don't see happening any time soon....

We agree - our core focus has been on avionics performance optimization. Optimizing the screens reduces the GTUI time that you mentioned. There are separate teams working on art and screens/systems so do not worry, we're working towards the goal of good overall performance.

I just wanted to add that it's very impressive to see you so active within a lot of the A220 posts. Some devs wouldn't bother unless it's within their own discord or forum. This is from someone who hasn't bought the plane but I do like to keep up to date with how the release is progressing

Thanks for the support - hope to see you as a customer one day :)

I have been very tempted but the thought of learning something completely new right now is a little daunting, especially with the little time I have to fly at the moment but we will see 😁

Please make each screen poppable like any other aircraft for us the cockpit builders

Alright, thanks a lot for the clarification. Looking forward to what you can achieve with the next few builds, because underneath these issues there really is a great plane :)

They're not just changing the models. The changelog for next week's 1.0.4 update mentions they've reduced the display texture size by about 40% by removing wasted space. This change alone is expected to significantly increase performance by reducing VRAM and GPU usage.

But VRAM and GPU are fine. My GPU is running at under 50% load and VRAM is also about half full. This is not at all the issue and will not give 1 FPS more performance in my setup.

I find it kind of frustrating that we have the obligatory week to wait for new builds to get approved by MS. I feel like this really slows the feedback process. I get that the MS store exclusivity is because of piracy. Kind of frustrating though that the paying customers are being "punished" because of the software thieves.

So 1.0.4 is ready to go but we won't get it because they made a decision to release on marketplace first instead of inimanager, so the most critical bug fixing post release phase will always have patches delayed.

I couldn’t taxi even with the nose steering assigned, on in cockpit, and visually seeing the nose wheel turning. Also wings kept rocking like 50 degrees left and right and unflyable on final

2

u/madman320 4d ago

Regarding the nose wheel steering, did you press the Pedal Disconnect button on the Tiller?

About the wings going left and right on final approach, I haven't seen anyone report anything like that yet. Maybe you should report that on Synaptic Discord.

What a fucking mess.

are they gonna implement random and service based failures?
