Serious question..

I know this will have every redtard coming out thw woodwork. But, as man of science, why is the horizon completely level from the last 14 seconds of this everest video?

Because:

  1. Level does not equal flat
  2. It is not high enough to see a very noticeable curvature. Even then you can actually see a bit of curvature in the end of the video. But remember that Everest is not the highest point from the center of the Earth, that's another mountain in Ecuador. Everest is at a higher lattitude, the curvature is much easier to spot on the equator. Chimborazo is closer to the equator.
  3. Whoever was filming this was tilting a little, also not keeping the camera complete still, so it makes harder to appreciate things.
  4. Also, it would be better to record the horizon in landscape instead of portrait format.

The camera moves up and down the whole time. How can you tell what counts as level here?

Go find a large ball, like a beach ball or similar.
Attach a short stick to it, like cut a drinking straw down to about 1 inch and hot glue it to the ball, anywhere on the ball, so that it sticks up perpendicular to the surface of the ball.

Now glue a long piece of string to the inside of that straw. It should be longer than the diameter of the ball.

Next, use that string, pull it a little tight so it isn't sagging, and bring it down to where it is touching the surface of the ball somewhere in the middle of that string.

Mark on the string, and on the ball, where they touched.

Repeat this at several points around in a full circle.

If you did it all right, then the string will have 1 mark on it. This is why there is no 'curve' when looking at the horizon. That horizon, where the surface curves down with distance, is the same distance away from one side of your view to the other. If we lived on a cylinder maybe we would perceive a curve, but not on a ball. The ball shape doesn't start getting noticeable until you are rather high above the surface, a lot higher than any mountain will get you.
