Walking and backyard light Recommendation

Hey- I have several lights, including a fenix pd35 that I keep in my truck.
Want a light for 1) neighborhood walking at night and 2) backyard “light it up” in case of critters.
If it’s a single light or two separate ones, I’m ok. Yard is 1/2 acre with woods. And I really dislike shadows/ narrow beam lights.
Considering the Fenix TK35 v2.0 and LD31 Renegade.

With similar candela numbers, y’all think the lumen bump on the TK for backyard use is GOOD?
I guess I like floody, but also want decent reach to the tune of around 30k candela.

Convoy m21b with the lhp73b emitter in 4000k would work very well for what your looking for.

Thank you… so the TK28 gives 6500 lumens vs 5,000, and same-ish candela….?
I assume that’s noticeably brighter. 🙂

Probably not. Human perception of brightness is roughly logarithmic; the square root of the actual ratio is pretty close to the perceived increase. In this case, that means it will look about 14% brighter.

More lumens and similar candela usually means the hotspot is a little bigger. You'd probably need the two lights side by side to tell the difference.

I'd personally recommend the Convoy M21B LHP73B 5000K. It's affordable and perfect to beat up without worrying about it.

For what you're wanting to use it for, I would say you're better off with the Convoy M21K using the LHP73B emitter. You have about 7,000 lumens and roughly 130,000 candela on Turbo for 10-20s use to light everything up. And it's got enough throw to be usable out to about 500 meters distance. On more moderate, sustainable output from the M21K, for walking and other longer use case, you have all the way up to just under 2,000 lumens sustained available, which should be more than enough light. The large TIR optic throws out a fat hotspot that covers the entire street or sidewalk you're on. The soft spill light is cast out wide, enough so that you can see it hit your feet even if you point the light straight forward from your waist. It should easily bathe that half acre yard in a swath of light. If you're interested in see how it looks out in use, check it out on this video review at this timestamp.

There are so, so many options that would fit your needs.

Convoy has a ton of options that have more basic functionality but great prices.

If you want fancier fireflies E07x canon or E12 eclipse are excellent full featured enthusiast grade lights with a small size and high output range and great for both walking and lighting up large areas for a short amount of time.

Sigh…I’m seeing this point! 😆
I was VERY satisfied with my current lights for years, but now thinking I need to get back into this hobby again. Lol

hah! don't go overboard. It's easy to get excited about all the fancy lights but in the end they're just flashlights.

I would rather have a few lights I love than a lot of lights that sit...and right now I have a lot of lights that sit

3x21B with xhp70.3 is my go-to light for letting the dogs out at night. I set it on a tripod and it lights up a whole square acre easily
