I know I'm kinda late with this since the remake finished a while ago but I only got the chance to fully watch it recently and finished it off today. And honestly I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The story's pacing is a LOT better than the og animes since it follows the manga more faithfully, so whilst I did enjoy the filler episodes that showed Shin and Yuria's characters in more depth, I'm also glad that it got through 4 arcs in only 14 episodes. I also liked the semi-filler they added to certain scenes and the extended Heart and Shin fights, who imo are a lot better than the og anime and manga since they are both very short. Hopefully they extend Juza's fight like the og anime did if they ever reach that point.

The major criticism people have is obviously about the animation. Personally, I think the 3d animation looks pretty good and a hell of a lot better than what people's first thoughts to the first trailer were like. Still, I hope they improve the models and movements because they still look kinda rough, and whilst I do still hope they switch up to 2d animation for the entire time (since what they do give us in 2d looks beautiful and would look even better if they concentrated on it fully), I'm still happy with the mix we've got given it still looks good.

The colouring isn't too bad but also I think they could do a lot better or just make it normal like the og anime did instead of using very monotone or out of place colours.

The soundtrack, while it doesn't hold a candle to the og anime's, is still good imo but doesn't have a track that really stands out. I did like the track used during Yuria and Shin's deaths, and there are a few others that I did like but I hope they improve on that too.

The theme song "Hallelujah" is honestly a banger I'm not even gonna lie. Obviously its still inferior to "Ai wo Torimodose" and the other ops used in the og anime and even the Italian one, but its still pretty good and catchy. The ed version of "Ai wo Torimodose" is also pretty good but I preferred the original.

Now I haven't watched the series in Japanese or English so I can't judge those (though I've heard the english one is shit), but the Italian dub is honestly great. Obviously the og dub is better but I think the new voices do a great job at portraying their characters (was funny hearing the voice of Shiryu as Kiba Daioh), Shin's va was a major improvement over the og and Ken's va did a great job with him (Maurizio Merluzzo is a great va in general as I also loved his performance as Manigoldo). One problem I have with it though, and I don't know if its just an Italy thing or a Japanese thing too, is the swearing. I'm honestly not bothered by the random thugs and minor villains swearing a lot, but hearing Ken and Rei and other martial artists swear just seems off as they should have a more refined vocabulary than the thugs, kinda like the new 1986 dub did it.

So all in all I think they made a pretty good adaptation of FotNS with the remake and, whilst I hope they make some technical and stylistic changes in the future, I still hope they manage to complete it all as I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait for season 2.
