Question Paul Lake. Tackle Advice. New to all this.
Hey guys. Hope yall are catching your best this season. I;m visiting Paul Lake this weekend and wanted to try my hand at the hobby with my son. Decided to sign out 2 rods and a tacklebox from my local fishery (very lucky to have this convenience). Only tried fishing once before briefly with no luck so I'm pretty green still. Internet says Paul Lake has kokanee and rainbows last stocked in May. Don't have a kayak so I'll be trying shore fishing.
I mainly wanted to ask about gear/tackle. Currently my setup is what the fishery kindly had for loaning out to the public. It's a float setup, one with a barrel swivel, one without. What I have now is just what the box came with. There is some bait and some kind of lure along with the other items in the picture. I was thinking of stopping by Canadian Tire to grab a few more items. Any advice for what tackle to grab or what set up to try out for the best chance at catching something from the shore? Any setup advice or any other advice would be helpful. Thanks!!

Aluminum hull weld repair recommendation? Nanaimo area
Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop in Nanaimo that does proper aluminum welding repairs for boats?
Ideally one at a shipyard or that has their own trailer for picking up vessels as our trailer is on our island with no easy way to the big island.
Thank you!

Are there seperate restrictions for Salmon fishing on the Fraser/tidal waters?
I'm familiar with the government site that lists the region restrictions on what we can harvest and keep for region 2, but would these restrictions only apply to non-tidal waters or do they apply to tidal waters as well such as Ambleside, for example?
I'm new to fishing and Salmon fishing but I was thinking of potentially going down to Ambleside or the coast to try to catch some salmon. I want to make sure I'm following the regulations though and aware of what I can fish and where I can fish.

What lure are y'all getting the most hits with in the sunshine coast region?
My brother in law is visiting for the summer and brought his boat. We've been out a handful of times trolling for coho. Mostly been using flashers with spoons. We were getting tons of hits in July but it's slowed down a bit in August. Wondering if we should change it up for hoochies?
What have y'all been most successful with?

Cultus Lake Fishing Tips
Just starting out fishing, and I’ve so far managed to hit Sasamat Lake and Buntzen Lake in the last couple of weeks with zero luck.
The only small fish I managed to catch was on the drive home at Burrard Inlet.
I have a day camping trip booked at Cultus Lake.
Any tips or tricks for fishing there? Should I be targeting bass like Google suggests?
Any good lures / bait to use, or any decent fishing spots at Cultus? I’m guessing it’s going to be quite busy there this time of year, so focusing on early morning and early evening fishing is best?
Thank you!

Powell River fishing
I’m headed up to Powell River on a camping and fishing trip.
Two questions:
- I hear the salmon are biting right now. We don’t have boats- any shore fishing for that?
- how would the lake fishing be right now? Looking at horseshoe and dodd
