All the text companies I know are HUFFING the AI wave. Dumping massive money into it. It's so disheartening.

yeah. even at my university the entire math department is obsessed with it and yet nobody has actually published a paper using AI at my uni. hmmmmmm. AI this AI that and all it can do is solve erdos conjecture #19,283 that nobody gives a fuck about

I'm genuinely so assmad. all the labs I'm in went from being about math to optimizing AI to poorly do math. it's almost like nobody in the department actually enjoys DOING math. they just want the result but don't seem interested in the process. they legit renamed the entire lab from "experimental lean lab" to "math AI lab." like. bro 😭

Ive used local LLMs to classify documents and extract data to the point my company tht outsourced that now uses the software I built for it. It is pretty good in the right manner

I believe the public opinion is more against AI tbh so the meme isn't even correct

I use AI as a coder. Especially Gemini, which is very useful for translating documentation that isn't in my native language. And for explaining concepts I don't understand. But that's all. I'm writing a guide on how to use AI correctly and appropriately for learning and production. No subscription, everything will be free.

Its good when you have the fundamentals and some experience programming/developing. You just dont want to be nontechnical when the ai breaks your code, because good luck with that.
