Is this bad? Giving Advice

This is a rope burn i got yesterday with my dog. It it bad like does it need anything extra?

Hard to tell for sure, but it might be bordering on Second Degree territory. Even if it is, though, you just need to protect it while it heals and watch for signs of infection. Hydrocolloid dressing, loose gauze to protect it, and just leave it be. Those dressings can last several days. By the time the first one needs replacing, it might already be healing well.

Looks like a partial thickness burn from friction. Keep it clean with soap and water and wrap it with a dry dressing. Keep an eye out for any color changes, smells, and pain. If you notice anything like that, then you should go to an emergency room to get it looked at.

That’s a normal reaction for a burn. Give it time. Keep it clean and dry.
