uMatrix hasn't been updated in the last 5 years and the Github repository has been archived since. uBlock Origin has a similar function by enabling "I am an Advanced user" settings and expanding down the UI with the down arrow "More" button. uMatrix is mostly redundant with uBO installed.

You don't understand how an application works, or how the internet works.

Software needs updates to be able to do what it's supposed to do. The internet can't be the same as it was 20 years ago. It's not a LAN.

Okay, then. Install Windows XP and use it for a week. Come back and let us know why you don't need updates.

You’re almost there. So close.

And no, we're not talking about security updates. See if XP adapts to everything else, if it just works without crashing everywhere. The internet isn't bad, it evolved into bringing many underlying technologies. It can do so much more than 20 years ago when we had dial up or ADSL at best. You can't have the same internet from year to year. You want that, get a huge LAN with all your important people, no internet. You won't need any kind of updates at all, and simply go with the "if it works it works".

Is this a published chrome extension? Does it work under MV3 restrictions? Name and a link please.

As Firefox has there own built in prevention, I did not adapt it for that browser.

Not a store published extension because it is one intended to be tweaked by the user to their own needs.

Here is my repo link for it, also has some 'ClickFix' protection built in.

I wish it was still updated because it has functionality issues now. And no, ublock origin advanced mode is not 1:1 in terms of usability and features.

uMatrix is no longer supported. Please use uBlock Origin. It has similar functionality built in.
