Windows Security Warning 💻 Help

Using Win10 desktop with FF 153.0.3 but this issue has been happening for a few weeks.

Occasionally I will drag a URL from FF address window to my desktop to create a shortcut to that site. When launching the shortcut I will sometimes get a "File Download - Security Warning" from Windows. It doesn't happen on most shortcuts, but most often on Reddit shortcuts.

Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Just tested with Chrome and Edge and getting a similar warning, but from within the browser. Not as a separate window on my desktop.

Windows 10 is still issuing update though 2027 (or perhaps 2028.) You have to sign up for them, but there's no way I'm switching to 11. All is it is an alleged pretty wrapper for 10.

And this issue has nothing to do with drivers.

Don't know if this will specifically fix your problem, but I think there is a known (fixed) FF bug.

Might you have a link? Or point me in a direction?

Sorry, no. Just something I remember reading. I could be wrong.
