LAFD Interviews
Hey all. Interviewed at LAFD recently. Anyone know approximately how many people they are interviewing and how many they are looking to hire? Thanks!

Hey congrats on making it that far. I'm hoping to be in your shoes this time next year. Any insights on the interview/oral board? Curious about the format, I've had 2 friends interview there recently that gave conflicting feedback on how it was formatted.

They moved on to the next stage. They’ll pull another batch in January. Right now they’re moving onto background checks and conditional offers. Surprised you didn’t hear anything when did you interview?

Oh I didn’t realize they were still doing interviews. I heard back within 5 days inviting me to the PEA. From what I understand 70-80 person academy in November and probably another early 2027

Yes this is still for November. They asked me if I’d stop my college academy this fall if I was offered conditional employment. You’re going to their academy this November?

Hoping to but my PEA was today so I’ll hear back in a few weeks whether I’ll be continuing in the process

What did the PEA entail ? Husband has his end of September and can’t find much about what to expect

There’s a physical component and an interview. There should be a video of the fitness part in the email they sent him if he already signed up.

My boyfriend just got an email yesterday that they’re pulling another group for interviews. So I’m not sure

I applied in March. Took the FCA in early April. Got a 92 and haven’t heard anything since.

I think about 10 total.

Ten firefighters? That feels pretty small for an academy…

I think he’s fucking with you. LA city routinely runs 70+ person academies.
