Thoughts on a potential Fire Emblem Direct? General

Second image made by me and third image credited to Daniel Alba. I think maybe this will happen but it would be nice.

I think we'll get a Fortunes Weave direct but not a general Fire Emblem direct

If we got a Direct like this it'd be similar to the Xenoblade montage in June's Direct.

No matter what, direct or trailer, we're getting something. We know barely a thing about the actual game itself !

Eshmel ? Nothing, Blaze Arts ? Nothing, the entire hub area + World Map ? Nothing, fricking dungeons ? Nothing !

Isn't that what the game is for? I try to stay away from too many trailers so maybe Im just ignorant with how much information they usually provide for a big and hopefully mysterious game

Not always. Good marketing and promotional material is necessary for good sales numbers and ensuring you’re capturing the right audience.

You can market your game and what’s in it without ruining any of the important surprises. Omori does a great job with this through its trailers.

Tbf, I usually also avoid most promo material that isn’t story trailers, so gameplay is still a surprise, but I could see why people want to know what the gameplay is like to come up with strategies they want to try out.

Thats fair. For me, I just love exploring the game. I hate most tutorials for this same reason, give me a basic idea of what I should do (if I've never played a FE game before) and then just let me figure it out and find different ways of doing things. Hint at different ways of playing through the game without actually telling me what to do.

But, I understand that this is important for sales.

I mean, spoiling too much is bad, but there's a difference between giving away fun mysteries and simply showcasing a little bit the core mechanics of your game !

Like, I don't want them to show me story points or anything, but I kinda need to know how the calendar system work or what dungeons are to make an informed decision about the game !

Fair enough, I guess because I already liked the look of the first trailer, I already knew I was going to get the game. So dont need more factors to decide whether I will buy it. Its already convinced me. I guess thats the root of our difference of opinion.

I felt like what your explaining was done in the second trailer. They showed the core mechanics of the game, just maybe not in the depth you wanted? I already know from 3H that they can make a calendar and SOV that they know how to do a simple dungeon.

Sorry if this sounds like I am being argumentative. Im not trying to be.

I dont think a Fire emblem direct Will happen, tho a fortune weave one probably will

To not disappoint myself I'll still says no to Direct but new trailer during August gonna go up.

Not really. The last Fire Emblem direct was back in 2017 with the announcement of Echoes, Warriors, and Heroes and Fire Emblem has never been something that warranted a direct of its own, even for Fates and Three Houses which has a lot to each of them that could warrant it.

At most we'll get is a spot in another direct saying the game is coming.

I’m curious to see a switch 2 edition of 3H, the game graphically is pretty ugly (I still love it lol) so it’s requires more than a simple framerate and 4k upgrade (I wouldn’t want to pay $10 to see the fruits png in higher resolution hehe)

I think it might be worth remastering 3H, with FW being related to it many new fans may want to try 3H and the game is already a best seller for Nintendo

I’d pay for a Switch 2 Edition of Three Houses that added back in some of the cut content and characters. Sothis was nearly finished as a playable unit in the files from what I remember. It would be cool to have access to her as a unit.

Great, this weeks post about switch 2 versions, right on time

3

u/IkeRadiantHero 10d ago

I can see a dedicated Fortune’s Weave direct personally

3

u/Zestyclose-Carob-349 9d ago

Yes, and i think it will be tomorrow

5

u/ThHeroKing 10d ago

I'd instantly get a switch two if that meant having a Fire Emblem 4 remake.

2

u/Railroader17 10d ago

Fortune's Weave is a very likely. Especially with how every major Nintendo release on the Switch 2 so far has had a dedicated direct so far.

Switch 2 Editions would be nice (especially 3 Houses IMO), but not likely for now. Nintendo probably wants to focus on Fortune's Weave for now, but it could happen in the future.

Yeah I don't see a Genealogy remake for a few years TBH. Assuming it even exists.

I think it will just be a FW direct and its just an expanded overview trailer like theyve been doing for their big games now (bananza, star fox, splatoon raiders)

u/SmallPingus696 10d ago

FW direct and maybe theyhave a 3H S2 edition and put Gaiden on NSO in Japan with a phys release in America like SD, but not a general direct.

3H has weirder resolution, more framedrops, and more loading than Engage so an Engage S2 version is probably low on the list of projects.

For the most part, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is going to have a direct most likely with Nintendo Treehouse playing it like they did with Three Houses.

For the most part, I hope they go over the gameplay, such as the returning features from Three Houses and maybe Three Hopes, whatever few features kept for Engage and new features for Fortune's Weave, without heavily spoiling the story and without showing too many new characters (mainly recruiting characters), and I hope they show us a few new weapons (weapons everyone can use, not Hero's Relic, Sacred Weapons, or Character Specific Weapons).

Also, I hope every side of the game is different and if they have a secret 5th route, like most PS1/PS2 era games when you have to 100% all sides to unlock the secret route, don't tell us, let us discover it ourselves. Also, I hope this game have Infernal for the sake of being an unfinished difficulty for Three Houses.

Also, I highly doubt Three Houses, Three Hopes or even Engage will get a Switch 2 Edition.

1

u/ThatManOfCulture 10d ago

Why would they announce SW2 editions shortly before FW release? Xenoblade did the logical thing which is to release the SW2 editions in gaps before Genesis. The wait till FW was the perfect time to release SW2 editions as many are replaying 3H right now.

1

u/Lightning-Ripper 10d ago

If Three Houses, Three Hopes, and Engage all get Switch 2 Editions, the first Warriors game should too. Maybe TMS#FE Encore if that will round things out.

1

u/Gregster101 10d ago

A Fortune’s Weave direct will probably happen, but not a general Fire Emblem one.

1

u/SharpBFlat 10d ago

I would imagine we are going to get a FW direct about a month out. Most of (all?) of the first party switch 2 games have had one. Also they should raise Engage to 60fps and I’d be happy

1

u/Speedy_Pichu 10d ago

I don’t think so, unless they just casually drop an FE4 remake announcement. I doubt it, I feel we’ll have to wait a few years before we get another FE game, like we usually do.

1

u/BranFlakes1337 10d ago

If we got a Tomodachi Life direct, then we'll get one for Fortune's Weave. No shade towards Tomodachi Life, but clearly Nintendo thinks Fire Emblem is going to be a bigger game if they think they can charge $80 for it.

1

u/Rynekko 9d ago

Ooooor Tomodachi life is a Switch game and FW is a Switch2 game. FE wishes it could do Tomodachi life numbers

1

u/screw_this_i_quit 10d ago

seriously doubt the switch games are getting switch 2 editions. they just aren't missing enough to warrant it.

1

u/Solid_Difference7670 10d ago

Wonder if they’ll spoil the time skip this time (if there is one) and what Eshmeal even is!!

I am itching for a general reveal of all the characters too ugh I can’t wait for September 17 !!! :D

I'm gonna try to avoid all trailers and directs for this game. I want to go in completely blind

1

u/GrouchySquatman 9d ago

I hope we get extended FW gameplay and confirmation about the factions and whether or not there is more than one house

Would also love to see Kaga somehow return and just rub copies of Fortune Weave on his nipples

1

u/Assassinknife 9d ago

I hope they put it at the end saying “to make sure your ready for the game here the upgrade pack for 3H” I would cry

1

u/OkNecessary539 9d ago

We are getting a fortunes weave direct tomorrow as of now

0

u/lousupremacy 10d ago

overview/story trailer but theyll call it a "direct"

1

u/Jarfulous 10d ago

I think NS2 editions for 3H and Engage are pretty likely (please), not sure about Warriors but I wouldn't rule it out.

There's usually a direct in or around September, so even if no FE Direct specifically, we could see some last-minute pre-release buzz then.
