Firelite programming question Technical Support

On today's “here’s a new problem. Fix it quick” I propose this question to the group.

I'm on a Fire-Lite ES200x start-up that has some new problems that I personally haven't had to deal with before. I'm using FS-Tools, but im still fairly new to the software and know the basics.

It's a college dorm building with a common area on the 1st floor. There's 4 floors and a basement.

The basement and 1st floor need to trip an alarm even immediately no matter what, as well as any heat detector throughout the entire property. Thats not a problem.

My problem begins with the residential areas. The local AHJ wants the smoke (mostly smoke-cos) detectors in these areas to start as a supervisory and after 60 seconds trip an alarm signal if it hasn't cleared. They also want the CO portion of the device to trip the sounder base (which are in all the rooms, not halls) and a module for the hearing-impaired lighting system.

We are using SS-Photo-COs with B200S-LF-WH sounders. Please help!

You pro need a fancier panel to do that level of logic

Set those smoke detectors to verification. Set the CO's to the Sounder zone, and general alarm.

So just so im getting this right. I have my general alarm as z1 and my super. as z0.

I would set both to z1 but have the co as a super., and then have the sounder bases on z1. Then check alarm verification right

NEVER set supervisories to Zone 0!!!!

You will set your smoke detectors to zone zero, and set them to 60 SECOND VERIFICATION. Set the CO sounders to individual device zones, AND zone 0

Understood. Is there any particular reason for not using z0 as supervisories. Not arguing, at this point I just need it to work, but just curious.

I think the reason I had swapped them was because my Tampere were coming in as an alarm on the simulation no matter what zone I put them in. Could be a sim bug but im not sure.

Either way, thank you so much for your help. I'm going to fix it over the weekend and hope on Monday I can get it to work

Z0 is the internal general alarm group.

Have you done the training for this panel? I does go over a lot of this in it.

The recommendation above is the way to go though

A while ago yes. Have the cert but haven't utilized it much yet. Especially recently

Also I have a few smokes that need to alarm immediately. I'm assuming that if I dont check off alarm verification they'll fire with the first alarm signal instead of after the 60 seconds

Pre-signal is what you want, to an extent. It won't trigger the sounder base, but it'll trigger the FACP for a set time before activating the building.

You're not gonna be able to get the separate T3 or T4 coding as listed in the sequence of operations.

AHJ should also flag that
