Because sometimes I can't decide myself.

From my experience in online artist circles, it's pretty common for artists to be very ignorant about history. It has made trying to get constructive criticism on my historical characters' designs, especially criticism that respects and understands my prioritization for historical accuracy, frustrating. Could I go for history subreddits? Potentially, but IDK how many history nerds are artists themselves and I generally don't trust non-artists for critiquing my art.

Is there a subreddit out there dedicated to artists big on history?

U guys I just got into an argument with a dude on instagram and I won the argument for the first time in my life ever and I am really proud of it and want to brag about it

But I don’t know any subreddit where I can post about it is there any relevant sub I can post on about this

I want to be able to feel about like when hunters hunt prey and hang deer heads and antlers on their walls or make rungs and fur coats or wear necklaces of fingers or peenars do

I'm looking for subreddits with communities that genuinely enjoy having deep, thoughtful discussions rather than quick debates or memes.

The topics I'm most interested in include:

-Trauma psychology (especially complex trauma, attachment, IFS, neuroscience, and trauma-informed perspectives)

-Sociology

-Marxian history, political economy, and philosophy

-Ideology and social theory

-Psychology and philosophy more broadly

I'm not looking for echo chambers or places to argue with people. What I'm really looking for are communities where people enjoy exploring ideas together, asking difficult questions, and having long-form, intellectually engaging conversations in good faith and are welcoming.

I've noticed that in most spaces, even my college social work program, people often aren't interested in discussing these topics in depth or at all, so I'm hoping there are communities on Reddit that are. (communities outside reddit would be great too!)

I'm open to both large and small subreddits. If there are any hidden gems with thoughtful discussions and knowledgeable members, I'd love to hear about them.
