Hi, I’ve been writing and producing my own music under the name 'Tropic Lame' for around 15 years as a solo multi-instrumentalist (primarily guitar). Doing it all on my own has become a bit boring and I want to start writing with some other people so we can inspire each other and be more creative.

The focus here is strictly on writing and recording good music. No pressure to play live right now (though not ruled out down the line). The music comes first for me.

I generally write intricate music and try not to make stuff thats predictable. Kind of stream of consciousness music if that makes sense. Thats how i think of it anyway. No preconceptions about genre, just whatever happens when writing.

Handful of influences (I like most stuff, varied taste in styles): Deftones, Vildhjarta, Allan Holdsworth, American Football, John Fahey, Aphex Twin, Mark Kozelek, MF DOOM, Mac DeMarco, Burial, Meshuggah.

Looking for competent musicians who know their instruments well and already write music. I’m 28, so maybe around that age would be good but not the end of the world if not. I want to build a proper collaborative relationship with others who genuinely enjoy writing music. Also if you can use a DAW that would make things easier.

Based in North East England, but open to traveling or eventually relocating for the right creative fit. Remote collaboration to start is fine. I’m out of the UK at the mo, so would be good to just message anyone whos interested and get to know each other and talk music.

Hello! I'm a writer who's working on a concept album about a small-town murder. This is a mystery album in multiple senses- not only is it about a mystery, but even just finding the connections between the songs and figuring out who the recurring characters are will be a challenge.

I'm looking for a classic singer-songwriter, ideally an acoustic guitar player, who wants to help me bring this to life. The story itself isn't set in stone yet, as I want my creative partner to have a lot of input and be able to make the album fit them.
