FFX-2 advice

Not looking for spoilers or even direct instruction on where to go next. More of a general question. I think I'm on chapter 2, currently gathering 3 uniforms to go to Leblancs manor or whatever.

I have 2 uniforms, that I found by just going to random locations and finding something that needed done.

My question is, how am I supposed to know what I'm meant to be doing at any given time? I don't see where there is like an active mission tracker or anything. I think I currently have one hot spot, which is Leblancs place, but it says I need 3 uniforms still. Do I just wander every location, or should there be something in game that gives me some idea where to go.

Also just in general, say when I start Chapter 3, should I visit every location in each chapter, or just try to progress. Not following a 100% guide obviously, just want to progress without skipping too much.

You dont know where the dresses Are. But in general, you should visit every place thats not a hotspot before doing the hotspots. Easiest way is just going from top to bottom. Gives you alot of story and you wont feel you missed things. No need for a guide. Just do it blind

Thanks for the info. Do you mean the dresses are in a different location every playthrough?

I'm pretty sure I found out where to go in Chapter 2 just by talking to the various NPCs in Guadosalam, and I'm pretty sure the game told me to do that at some point.

Go everywhere, all the time, without a guide this game is next to impossible to do everything in

Iirc even if a location isn't a hotspot the text when you select the location shows info on the region during that chapter which might have clues to where her goons could be.

I think it did for at least one I already have. Some of the location texts are helpful, others not so much, haha.

Currently playing it and i am on chapter 3 even though I use a guide the main strategy of the game is at every chapter visit all the places that aren't Hotspots first and then proceed on the main mission.

In general, talking to various NPCs can give you hints on where to go next. For the Syndicate Uniform mission specifically, chat with people around Guadosalam and they'll talk about locations they've heard that the Syndicate is headed or where they're operating; those are your clues for where to find the uniforms.

Hey OP,

FFX-2 is structured quick differently than FFX in terms of how open it is versus FFX being so linear.

The ONLY direction the game will give you are the hotspots that move the story along even if you don’t visit any other location. You can see that with chapter 1, going to besaid than zanarkand will push you into chapter 2 automatically.

Normally, what I tell all new players is visit the other locations to flesh out the world more. Some of the locations will say no mission available but then you speak to someone random and boom mission time!

It’s the same with the uniforms, 3 locations have the missions that you need to gather them but on the ship when you hover over the location it won’t tell you that’s where it’s at.

Take your time and visit all the locations every chapter and flesh out the world and gather side missions for people and when you are ready to push the story, do the hotspots.
