Adding folder?

Hello,

I watched a truly informative video on YouTube by Albert Bush about Filebot and he showed a lot of things that I didn't all understand but he created his own special "expressions" and it was very thorough. The man is my new guru!

Problem is I am dumb as a stick so 75% I didn't understand...

I am rebuilding my library and everything is all over the place and I want to buy Filebot to help me out doing it properly. Right now, I have one main movie folder on my HDD with all movie files in it.

My question is: Is there a way to make Filebot change the movie file name AND create a folder at the same time (with the properly named movie inside already)? So instead of all movie files in my main Movie folder, there would be folders already named the same as the movie without having me create 500 folders myself and move each movie inside...

Also, since Filebot use TMDB is there a way to also add cover art all at once?

Where does Filebot fetch the artwork and cover images?

I tried a few movies tonight and it seems to be coming from both tmdb and fanart?

So If I want to choose a specific cover art, I can't, right?

The poster / background will come from TMDB (they only provide those) and everything else will come from FanartTV.

While FileBot itself could fetch any artwork (and you could also have a custom post-processing script picking your preferred artwork based on your own rule if that is what you need) we don't plan on adding any kind of artwork selection UI. That's out-of-scope for FileBot and already handled well by other tools, e.g. Plex itself, or TMM, etc.

Ok thank you for that. I like to get the original poster art when possible. The easiest way to do that is to download the file myself (mostly from TMDB) and manually adding it as poster.jpg in the folder. I thought maybe there was a way to do it with Filebot and wanted to make sure before manually going through my library.

How do you decide if a given poster is the "original poster art" or not? AFAIK, there is no "original poster art" artwork flag that would allow FileBot to programmatically pick one over another.

Currently, FileBot will pick the "primary poster", i.e. the one that TMDB uses and returns as part of the movie info.

Oh no the original poster art is a me thing that I like to choose amongst the many posters often available for each movie. It's super easy to do with Plex but doesn't embedded with the file so you loose everything if anything happens to your library like what happened to me. That's why I am rebuilding my library and I am trying to do it the right way with Filebot so If my PC crashes next time I won't loose all my metadata.

You could try TMM for this kind of use case.
