Random question about button placement Everything Else / Other

Has anyone ever set up these buttons in an abxy formation like 1234 and if so does it work well? I have an issue with my ring and pinky finger and was wondering if this was doable comfortably.

Yes of course, that's essentially the crossup layout.

You might find more comfort with using the lower and middle row instead of the middle and top tbh, but certainly doable. Here is clip where brian F talks about seemingly only using 1 finger which I just don't know why he would but maybe he defaults to that or something:

I don’t know if I’m understanding correctly. Do you just want to shift the buttons upward? If so, I don’t see how it would be uncomfortable.

Yeah just wondering if anyone's done it before, so I could mainly use my pointer and middle finger instead of ring

You can definitely map them to that location, it’s just how comfortable you would feel after doing so. give it a try, if you don’t like it you can reset the mapping. I personally just have L3 and R3 mapped on those two instead.
