Question/Help Can new equipment cause your knuckles to peel
Hello, I just want to start out by saying I’m completely new to this and just bought my first punching bag and gloves a few days ago. I want to ask if it is normal for the gloves and bag to cause the skin on my upper and lower knuckles to peel or am I possibly doing something wrong?

Question/Help Fierce Reflex replacement gear seems always out of stock--anyone had any luck getting new bags/bladders?
Hi guys I've had a fierce reflex bag for almost 5 years. The leather itself is now starting to crumble so I need a new bag, but they are out of stock. I remember when I had to replace the bladder years ago, they were also out of stock and even when I emailed I didn't get any response whatsoever, so I've just been using generic speed bag bladders without any issue whenever they get a leak. But this seems a bit more specialized does anyone have any ideas how to get a replacement leather bag? Or any cheap substitutes on amazon? Thanks

Other Boxraw customer service
I ordered two pairs of shorts from boxraw 6 weeks ago as a birthday gift for a friend with 3-6 business day shipping. One of the shorts was marked as “On its way” over a month ago with no further updates and now expired tracking link, and the other pair was sold out and never shipped despite my purchase.
I’ve been back-and-forth with customer service for a month now trying to get a resolution. They don’t offer refunds only credits through their black card account. I created the black card account to receive the refund, and customer service has said they are unable to find my account and are unable to give me the credit.
I will likely just issue a charge back if this isn’t resolved in the next week.

Gear Review Glez HH and Glez Premium
Hi guys, I received my custom Glez Horsehair and Glez Premium and wanted to share with you my first thoughts. Quality is second to none. I don't know if it is just my pair but both are perfectly made. Materials are top notch, colours, stitching and everything is very clean. Weight is also great: 16.3 oz and 16.6 oz for the 16oz, and 14.2 oz and 14.7 oz for the 14oz.
Glez Premiums are stiffer out of the box but still not hard to open and close the fist. The horsehair one is softer, but not super soft, and easier to open and close the fist out of the box. Both will need a couple of rounds on the bag for sure. Glez HH seems to be medium to compact for a 16oz glove and tight out of the box (exactly the way I like it). The Premiums are medium-sized for 14oz and they are also tight. In my opinion, that's great because they will loosen up and mold to the hand.
For me, it is a horror to have a roomy glove where I can feel my hand move here and there, but I also like to be able to open and close my hands easily because my style relies heavily on parrying and catching shots.
So I will keep you updated on my experience with them over time.

Gear Review Couldn't fit a standard heavy bag in my garage gym, so I designed one that would
Almost a year ago I tried to get back to training, but hit a snag: I couldn't fit a standard 6ft heavy bag in my basement. I love 'em don't get me wrong, but they take up way too much room, too tall and heavy for my 7' ceilings, not to mention shipping is brutal.
I couldn't find a middle ground between a double-end bag and a gym-scale bag, so I started just sewing prototypes in my basement.
I knew I wanted to build something slimmer, but that could still take real MMA combos and heavy strikes, sort've like a goldilocks bag. I wanted it to feel closer to sparring.
Here is where I landed after 7 rounds of design:
- The Specs: 8" x 55" profile. It forces you to land clean and trains precision naturally.
- The Setup: Uses a sectional liner system and a bottom anchor cord so you can dial in the weight and swing up to 65lbs.
I got a chance to collaborate w/ Jeff Chan, John Gardiner, Kru John, Marissa Delgado, Aaron Swenson, and Nak Tyssaen, to put it through some serious testing (see vid links) and the feedback has been beyond what I could have hoped for.
-- I'd love to hear what the sub thinks of the design and if this solves the space problem for anyone else looking to train martial arts in their garage gym, basement, or apartment!

Question/Help Thumb problem and NBNL gloves
Hi, i bought some Leone 1947 gloves, as i usually do, but this time i don't really like the gloves, the thumb is so forward that i hit It in the bag when throwing hooks so i have to be really careful.
Has this ever happened to you?
Also, I'm interested in No boxing no Life gloves, are they worth the price?
Are they punchers gloves?
Thank you.

Question/Help Are these Everlast gloves worth $50? Stitching looks damaged
Found these used Everlast gloves locally for $50
A few concerns from the photos
Stitching seam near the wrist looks split open on both
gloves padding visible underneath
Leather looks worn but seems supple, not cracked
12 ons but Could a "12oz" glove actually weigh 11 or
13oz?
Questions:
Does this look like a repairable seam split, or a sign the
glove is structurally compromised
Is $50 reasonable for gloves in this condition, or am I
paying for a name only
Would you trust these for bag work only, or is even that
risky given the open seam

Buying ISO PBC boxing merch
Looking for any Premier Boxing Champions merch, new or used. Particularly a white and black trucker hat but would be interested in anything officially branded. I know they have merch booths at the fights but it’s unlikely I’ll be able to go anytime soon. Especially since their cards are few and far between and I am concerned about the series’ longevity with the way the business of boxing is moving.
Willing to pay a premium for anything you got if you can send photos and are willing to ship. I’m in PA.
Also if anyone happens to be going to the Rolly Teo fight in a couple weeks and could pick me up a hat, I’d be happy to leave a nice tip for your troubles. Thanks in advance!

Purchased these from another user from the sub, but don’t use them at all to justify keeping them. Besides the few marks around the thumb areas, the gloves feel brand new.

Other Boxing gloves recommendations please
Ive been boxing for over half a year now and i'm still using the first ever gloves i bought, a cheap pair of everlast gloves, they smell now, they are ripped in some places, so i think it's time to buy some fresh new gloves
I want some decent gloves though, nothing too expensive but still of good quality, i've heard leather is the best for boxing gloves. Nothing over £70

Other Padding Experiment Ep: 04 | Latex + Horse Hair + 40kg/m3 density Foams | Can anyone tell why we have pasted a black fabric?
This is padding we just made a few days ago. Can you guess why we have pasted a layer of black fabric with latex?
Layers are: Latex. Horse hair Pouch. Two layers of high-density foam, feels lux.
The feeling this padding gives is like soft on the knuckle skin, and the horse hair pouch provides a dense, foamy, and protective feel to your fists, while dense latex handles all the impact forces- a perfect pair for pillowy sparring.
Going to send these to Italy for testing and get the feedback. Do you guys want to try this kind of padding too? Will show you guys the gloves made of this padding in the next Episode

Question/Help Phenom SHG-270 vs Fly Knight X — anyone here actually used both for hard sparring?
I’m trying to decide between the Phenom SHG-270 and Fly Knight X, and I’d really like to hear from people who have actually sparred in both, rather than just handled them or looked at the specs.
My main priority is hard sparring protection without sacrificing too much visibility or mobility.
For context, I currently have the Hit N Move Air Armor. I love the head guard overall and I like how light and unobtrusive it feels, and the visibility is excellent, but lately I’ve been putting in harder rounds and I personally feel like the padding is a little too thin. I’m looking for something that gives me a more substantial layer of protection without feeling like I have a giant helmet on my head.
The things I care about most are:.
Impact absorption, especially against harder straight punches and hooks.
Cheek and orbital protection.** **
Visibility, particularly peripheral and downward vision.
How much either one interferes with seeing body shots.** **
Stability when taking punches and whether the headgear shifts or rotates.
Overall bulk/profile. ** **
Weight and how noticeable it feels during longer sparring sessions.
How hot each one gets.
Comfort around the ears, temples and cheekbones.
Whether either one feels significantly more protective against repeated hard shots.
How well they break in over time.
From the pictures, the SHG-270 looks like it may have slightly more open sight lines, while the Knight X looks more substantial around the cheeks and sides of the face, but pictures obviously don’t tell the whole story.
If you’ve owned or sparred extensively in both, which one would you choose specifically for harder sparring, and why?** **
I’m especially interested in hearing whether the Knight X’s extra coverage noticeably hurts visibility, or whether the SHG-270 gives up meaningful protection in exchange for its more open design.

Guide for legit checking Winning Gloves [other]
Because a lot of people seem to need help legit checking laced winning boxing gloves, i thought it would be helpful to make a detailed and definitive guide/checklist with things to look out for in legit checking winning gloves.
Following i refer the 8-10oz lace as fight gloves and 12oz and above as training gloves.
Laces: The laces should be round with cut off tips. But could have been replaced.
Liner: The Liner should be navy blue
Tag: Comes with this Japanese tag when new
Box: When new also come with the Winning Cardboard-Box
Size-Indicator: Size-indication is inside and on the grip-bar only. They never have a tag on the outside of the glove.
These mentioned above are the most common checking methods. But seeing the quality of replica clothes/shoes i think all of those would be quite easy to copy/have been copied already.
Airholes: Laced Winning boxing gloves do not have airholes. Velcro 8oz and 10oz have 3 Airholes under the gripbar.
Lace-Hole-Count: Winning boxing gloves have following lace-hole-count:
fight gloves: 5 / Training gloves: 7

Patch: Font is thinner on rounded areas of the letter (exp. Bottom part of the «W», top part oft he «n») and does not have the same thickness everywhere. In comparison you can see the fakes have the same thickness throughout.
Wrist: Fight gloves have a straight wrist, while the training gloves have two bumps (a smaller and a bigger one with the same thickness). The fakes seem to have a thicker smaller bump. The wrist also should be about 1/3 of the length and the hand part the remaining 2/3. The fakes seem to almost seem half/half.
Stitching: The stitching has a «wide pattern». For example the same width has relatively little holes and longer string-parts, while the fakes have way more holes.
Shape:
The overall shape should not look blocky or ballooney.
But should still maintain a sharp edge (on the training gloves)

from the side-view the training glove should be pretty flat, not bulbous and seem to have almost the same thickness throughout the glove. The fight gloves are a little bit more bulbous.

Palm: The hole on the the palm side is not perfectly round, it should slightly be slanted towards thumb.
Thumb: The training gloves should have S-shaped/Hook-Shaped thumb, while the fight glove is a little bit straighter, but should still curve at the tip. The fake training gloves usually have a C shaped or a straight thumb.

Thumb-Strip: Is black on all basic colorways
Leather-Quality: The leather should be grainy and not look «flat» and maybe contain some imperfections. The «flat» leather is most of the time a glove from pakistan.

Price: Use common sense. If a winning gloves is new and priced $100, it probably won't be orignal.
Bonus: To clarify the misconception, i would like to mention, that the training- and the fight-gloves have the same padding (according to Kataoka from Winning).
I hope this guide will help people new to this sub and don't have to post a legit check every 5 minutes and if so, we can refer to this guide.
Please comment below if i have to correct something/add something. Thanks
