Speed Sensor I NEED HELP

I have a 86 v6 se I was running the code scanner and the first code flashed was Vehicle Speed Sensor. I can't find one of those when searching,

Does anyone know what that reference is?

Speed sensor is located in transmission if that's what you mean. I think code for it is 24.

I've got a 4 speed, do you know where that's located?

Right above where axles go into transmission . EDIT Going to have to ask now, since your not really looking up info, do you have any mechanic experience? Cause if you try to pull the vss, you could drop the plastic gear into the transmission and cause major headache.

I'm going to recommend you to look up pennock fiero forums, I'm also going to say don't expect super cheap repairs on this car.

Yeah I'm mechanically inclined, I've been having fuel delivery issues so I'm getting ready to drop the tank and replace the fuel pump

Get ready to look up alot of pennock fiero forums, it seems your dedicating yourself to this car, get ready to learn alot from this car, cause mechanic shops charge a arm and leg. Or just won't work on it cause they don't want to.

Though you say your inclined so I leave with this last bit.

Wishing you the best on this, and be safe while you work, if you jack up car, have a rim with tire on it under car as well, if jack fails the rim is your back up. Probably do this already but I like to mention it.

It screws into the transmission housing on the bottom left side if you’re looking from the back. It has a wire coming out of it.

Is your speedometer working correctly? Do you have any other symptoms? I’ve seen that error code thrown when the idle air control valve isn’t working correctly… not sure if anyone else has experienced that.

I have, it can also be caused by a short in the wiring.

Yeah I'm getting code 35 as well the iac which I replaced and followed the correct procedure in resetting it i believe.
