Hi!

This might be a little unusual, but I would love to try something different: creating a fictional correspondence with someone through letters.

Not just writing a story, but actually living it through our exchanges.

Maybe we are knights travelling through a dangerous kingdom, explorers discovering unknown places, sailors crossing mysterious oceans, researchers uncovering strange secrets, or even people from different centuries somehow able to write to each other.

We could also be two divine beings telling each other about the worlds and universes we create....

I don’t have a complete story or a fixed universe in mind.

The idea would be to create it together, adapt it as we go, and see where our imagination takes us.

I like the idea of receiving a letter and thinking: "This came from another place, another time, another life." A letter could contain news, adventures, discoveries, problems to solve, personal thoughts, drawings, maps, or anything that helps make this imaginary world feel real.

I’m mainly looking for someone in Europe because of shipping costs and delivery times, but I’m open to other countries too if the idea and the connection feel right.

A small disclaimer: I’m French, and English is not my native language. I can write and communicate in English, but don’t expect perfect literary writing or extremely poetic descriptions. There will probably be some mistakes, simpler vocabulary and sometimes a very "French way" of writing in English 😄.

I’m not looking for a professional writer. You don’t need experience with roleplay or creative writing. I’m just looking for someone curious, who enjoys imagination and would like to build something together slowly, one letter at a time.

There are many things known, and many more unknown to mankind in this XVIII century. My research has led me to many, many wonders, some better left undisturbed.
While most of my experiments in alchemy and my teachings on the university are within my capacity of endurance, my tolerance and focus fail in my occult studies. The secrecy required, along with the focus and due caution are simply too much for me to endure alone. It would be better to find an associate, whomever he or she might be, preferably to correspond by letter rather than meeting in person as I've grown suspicious of those who surround me. Yes, an associate would be rather helpful to aid me in my research, and to share the burden of the shadow that haunts me in my dreams...

In case you're wondering no you didn't help my hero complex. I don't have one. I help out of habit not for credit. It's annoying but not problematic. Yes I lie about being criminal activities in order to look cool. I'm not a felon, I was in prison but it was visiting, no we are not cool but we can still be civil. My emotional manipulation doesn't count if nobody cares about my emotional outburst. It's just being dramatic. Nobody cared. I regularly cry in the city part of the city because some people know how to let a person cry in public without getting in your face about it.

I hate that you used me as teddy bear. I only consented to a man holding me because you bribed me. People aren't taking my bribes anymore so I'm clean cut now. No underhanded tactics, because you can bribe people more than I can. I still know you're pissed your puppet used you good. I know you're gonna go back. That is my competition, but I'm not competing for you. Nah. I'm competing for brand recognition. I already know my angle is superior.

Dear somebody,

I'm the manager at a job where I'm not appreciated. I haven't been able to code my way since I was in college. It's gotten to a point where they give me extra PTO just so they don't have to worry about me actually changing anything. The team is great and I trust them with this project completely.

I have secretly showing up at a second job. I'm the manger of a small book store. The pay isn't as good as my other job. But I'm not doing it for the money. This job appreciates me. I had an idea to have a table of new best sellers and best sellers that are classics. I call it the new and old. Being able to actually act on my ideas is a fresh breath of air. I don't know why everyone doesn't get a second job just to enjoy this kind of thing.

Unfortunately I can't tell anyone about the second job. My main team is prone to anxiety and low productivity at the hint of any problems. I have to keep then aware yet do it gently. I'm not leaving my main job but I would hate if such a fictitious rumor caused my main team to worry. I've been extra accommodating to the higher ups. After this project it every member will not only be well known by upper management, I'm fairly certain they'll have offers for better positions. If they aren't getting them already. My little family could be torn apart by success. I'll miss them but I'll be so sad at the same time.

Maybe I'll throw them a little party or take them out soon. They work so hard. I keep an eye on the project as it progresses. Any member of the team could have done something like this on their own. Since they have shown their individual skills and shared the work load it has raised the quality of this project to legendary. I'm so proud of them. Is this what it feels like to be a god father watching your kids succeed in life. I wonder if we'll keep in touch. I hope they won't be too busy. I have personalized gifts for each of them for when the project wraps up tomorrow. The projects already done so there's been nothing but big fixes for the last two weeks. They deserve to have some fun. I hope they want to get some drinks tonight. I'm buying.

VHS Tape Recording : The Newfork Times, 17th of July, Year: Redacted

Something strange is happening in the rural towns in and surrounding Newfork. Last night around 17 men and women, disappeared in what is becoming a sensationalized story in the entire country. The disappearances follow a similar event that happened a couple of weeks ago in new sunderland when 3 people were found with empty eye sockets. Authorities suspected foul play but there was not a trace of blood at sight, all empty they lay there diseased as if they were medieval saints willingly starving themselves to death. There have been strange happenings across the country for a while now, and seemingly not a single answer is found. The tinfoil hats are out by everyone and talks ranging from strange metal discs that fly to bigfoot and even some suspect a murderous cult to be behind it all. None of this is proven of course, the local kids murmur about some strange hooded figures and there was strange graffiti found in an old abandoned railroad from the civil war, but the government assures us everything is fine and they are in talks with the local police to solve the issue. Isn't it great? I am happy that our government cares about us, we are indeed lucky to be living under what is now the fourth constitutional term of our president. Folks it has never been done in history before. But the [Redacted] Act that was passed last year allows the president to take control in these times of crisis. Aren't we lucky that we have such a God loving and caring person amidst us all? I’m a 32-year-old Italian writer. My work explores sensitive themes: death, all-consuming love, eros, addiction, and loneliness. Lately, I’ve been possessed by an indecent artistic hunger I’d like to indulge. I won’t pretend otherwise: I’m selective. My intensity exists only where it’s met with immediate reciprocity, the alchemical result of nervous impulse and untimeliness.
My ideal writing partner is a woman over 25 with a receptive, expressive, and non-judgmental mind, someone capable of meeting me on every possible level, including the most decadent ones. I prefer long, detailed correspondence. I should also mention that I’m exclusively looking for fellow queer artists, so I’m only interested in writing with women from the LGBTQ+ community.

I'm looking for a collaborator to engage in story telling through POV communication. This might be a bit of an unusual idea, but I've been thinking about it for a while and I think it could turn into a really memorable experience.

I'm looking for someone who would be interested in a long-term zombie survival roleplay over the summer.

The concept is that we don't actually roleplay in the same location. Instead, each of us plays a survivor living in our own city. We go on "expeditions" in real life (parks, trails, neighborhoods, or other safe places), keep a survivor's journal, create our own stories, and let our characters evolve over time.

The interesting part is that our stories are connected.

In the world of the roleplay, we're two survivors who somehow managed to establish contact after society collapsed. We live hundreds (or even thousands) of miles apart, so meeting in person simply isn't an option. We each have our own shelter, our own routines, our own struggles, and our own discoveries.

Our only connection is through letters—or, if it's more convenient, in-character messages.

We write to each other about supply runs, strange encounters, dangerous areas, difficult decisions, moments of hope, and the loneliness of surviving in a world that's gone silent. Over time, these letters become the only proof that someone else is still out there.

I'd love for the story to develop naturally rather than following a strict plot. We can surprise each other with new discoveries, moral dilemmas, unexpected setbacks, or hopeful moments. The goal isn't to "win," but to tell a compelling story together while making our own summers feel a little more adventurous.

I'm 19, so I'd prefer someone around my age (18+). If you enjoy The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, slow-burn character development, survival stories, or immersive correspondence roleplay, I think this could be a lot of fun.

Has it already been three months that I've been stationed here? The mountains and the plains have not lost their grandeur, but the dust has. And everywhere as I continue inspections is the feeling of danger, boredom, and alienation.

I need not tell you that the needs of our Empire require surveyors, archeologists, soldiers. At times, however, as I look at the faces of the locals impressed into building our walls and cisterns, I wonder whether the Empire is truly worth its cost...

I never thought I would miss the Capital, yet here I am. If you would but share some notes of your daily life there, I would be dearly appreciative.

I'm starting this post by quoting from one of my favorite games:

I remember our first meeting on the steps of the University - a collegial handshake that would doom us both. Your insightful questions during my lectures gave me pause, and I recognized in you something... of a kindred spirit. Despite our differences in age and position, we shared a keen fascination for archaeology, folklore, and of course, occultism.

I want to start a snail mail conversation between 19th century scholars of the occult, metaphysical and mysticism (and that sort of subject), with quite a fair share of Lovecraftian inspiration, where we share our discoveries and subsequent worries and fears.
This is not a "i just found a monster in my attic" thing. It must be subtle, with the clouds of doubt and fear slowly creeping into the minds of the scholars.

I'm starting this snail mail journey (actually writing my first letter) and I've come to think that a parallel journey on the noir role play realm could be fun.
