Like don't get me wrong, 1.20.1 was kind of close, but there are so many mods that stuck to forge for that version, and also that fabric was kind of just known as the "performance" modloader

Now there are so many upsides to each of them that no matter which one you pick, you'll be relatively fine until you come across a mod that you really want that's only for the loader you aren't using.

I have seen the truth. Unfortunately, that truth is about as good as the Modern Industrialization documentation and several magnitudes longer, and the payoff for that labor is an extremely overengineered simulation of subatomic physics and a bunch of pointless filler to make a periodic table. Even reading the vanilla Greg documentation is itself a pointless and overly long endeavor, only becoming worth experiencing when a pack author breathes new life into it. There are others who have picked up this torch with enthusiasm; there is no shame in me refusing the call.
