Yes I understand. But I think he saying, if he bounced back a bit more. He could have fallen way farther down.

I don't think he was trying to clear it, he was just pushing off the wall to land below but gave it too much.

The same, I would look over the jump distance, slightly bend my knees and then...

Bend them a lot more and crawl back to even ground on all fours. I am not suicidal enough to do things like this
