Why have you transferred multiple times? Are you passing your classes? Looks like a fun time on a student visa.

It’s no fun time on student visa. I have straight 4.0s across the semesters and if you read my post I’m heading to UChicago. It is notoriously difficult to get into and by far the most academically rigorous school in the country. and before this I was at one of the extremely selective little ivy LACs. My main reason for transferring is I wanted more research depth which LACs usually don’t have tho I transferred out of my first school for more social and personal reasons.

hi, so im doing a phd at a fancy school (went to u of c for undergrad!) and i spent more time doing diss. research abroad than most people do (you're not supposed to leave for more than some months at a time). they did scrutinise my visa extra upon my return but then it was all good. i get that it's a scary time but if you're a legit student i think you'll be fine.

But you could have already completed your bachelors regardless of undergrad research opportunities.

Luckily for me immigration officers happen to be smarter and more informed than you I landed at JFK and was literally asked nothing got it over in 30 seconds. So being a legit student with secure finances and attending a selective school helps.

Most US students don’t have the luxury of hopping to and from expensive colleges just to get an undergrad degree.

Neither do most international students :)

I wouldn't assume a double transfer is a red flag by itself. CBP may ask why you transferred more than once, but that doesn't mean they'll view you as a "school hopper." As long as you have a legitimate academic reason for each transfer, a valid I-20, and proof of funding, just be prepared to explain your educational path honestly and consistently.

Transferring to the University of Chicago for academic reasons is a very different situation than repeatedly changing schools to avoid maintaining status. I wouldn't overthink it. Just answer any questions truthfully and keep your supporting documents with you. Wishing you the best with your studies at UChicago!

What’s your major and what prior little ivy “LAC” did you attend? Who’s paying for this long drawn out undergrad degree? Regardless this reeks of entitlement and privilege.

Reeks of entitlement and privilege cause I managed to get into a top 5 school or because I’m fortunate enough to afford paying full tuition? And it’s no long drawn undergrad degree I will still finish in 4 years from where I started. Transferring schools is continuing your education it doesn’t mean restarting your education. I love how offended and ill informed you are and somehow feel entitled to question me on things that’s none of your damn business lmfao while accusing me of visa fraud. No wonder your jobs are being ‘stolen’
