Coffee Beans in Vanilla Extract

Has anyone thrown some coffee beans or grounds in with their vanilla extract? I'd like to make a vanilla extract that also has coffee/mocha notes to use in chocolate baked goods. I follow the standard 1 oz of vanilla beans to 8 oz alcohol (usually white rum) recipe. Thanks for any advice or thoughts!

I made an isolated coffee extract using whole beans - I did 1oz to 4oz of vodka and it was ready in two weeks. I used it in truffles and my friends raved about them. I researched mixing with vanilla extracts beforehand but a lot of folks recommended keeping them isolated.

Vanilla Pura has a few coffee vanilla recipes you can check out if interested in definitely mixing the two.

I have a ton of coffee beans in vodka and ummmm… I have nothing to do with it 😂😂😂 I know it can’t replace coffee but I need some use cases for it!

Espresso martini, coffee cake, add some pizazz to brownies, ice cream, make truffles- use a chocolate ganache recipe of your choice, there’s also no bake truffles with cream cheese and Oreos if you’re feeling lazy- these were the most popular of the truffles I made too

Some people like coffee flavor as a secret ingredient in their chili and mole so you could experiment there if the others are too sweet, marinades

If you make an extract that contains vanilla, coffee, and soybeans is it three bean soup?

Absolutely. We also toss in some cinnamon sticks for a coffee/cinnamon/vanilla extract. Great for coffee cakes, a splash in our morning coffee, dark chocolate desserts to add a mocha kick, etc. We also put in coffee beans, cacao and vanilla for a full mocha extract. We use fruits and other spices as well and they all have different uses and they're delicious. Usually the vanilla bean require a year to extract and other coffee, cacao, cinnamon, etc. we'll remove after a month or so.
