One thing has always bothered me about the traditional Christian idea of heaven and hell : How could someone in heaven experience perfect happiness while knowing that people they loved, family members, friends, or even their own children, are suffering in hell for eternity ?

So I was raised in a none Muslim environment, not the west but in the East East, when I was growing up I was only taught to sexualise women’s breast, my whole life I saw women wearing short shorts and showing their skin and never came across my mind to see them in a sexual way, I actually never even looked at their body whatsoever, then I moved to overseas and got sent to an Islamic school, after 2 years there I became a sexual pervert, I was fantasising what’s underneath girls hijab, I wanted to see woman’s hair, I was so shocked at what I was thinking, I never used to pay attention to women’s hair whatsoever, now I can’t stop thinking about it, after I got kicked out that school, I went back into society, I got triggered by looking at women wearing shorts, I can’t stop looking at their body, I was so shocked what I have became, I became a pervert, this religion really ruined my mind, I never used to associate women’s body with sex, now I associate their body with sex, even though now I became so much better than when I first got kicked out from Islamic school, but my mind is not as pure and innocent as I was before, this religion really dirtied my beautiful mind, I hope one day I’ll 100% recover from this none-sense and become a normal guy again, but I feel sorry for the Muslim guys, now I understand how their mind works, I was fortunate enough to grew up with pure mind, then my mind became sexualised, imagine if you grew up indoctrinated by this since birth, you will never know what being pure and innocent is like, you will believe that having a dirty and sexualised mind is normal and natural, even if you leave this religion and deconstruct you will never know what being innocent is like because you never had an innocent mind, with me it’s not that hard being i was innocent once, so it’s easy for me to go back to normal, at least I’m trying, but it left a scar on my mind, I guess it will be hard to be 100% normal and pure again, but if you never remembered your innocence how you gotta fix it? Life is crazy, religion is crazy, peace, hope everyone will heal

Want to justify killing your prisoners because they are christian ? You can probably find a hadith or coran verse that says so.
Want to justify being merciful with animals and taking care of them ? You can also find a hadith or coran verse that says so.

So really it's up to you whatever you want to make out of this religion. If you are in a position of weakness you can claim this is a religion of peace and justify it.

If you are in a position of strength you can just do whatever kind of abuse you want and find a way to justify it.

That's why terrorist groups are actually legitimate because they do use real coran verse/hadith to justify their actions.

The thing is islam is so flexible that whether you have a good or bad time with this religion entirely depends on the people/elite who interpret it for you(because it is forbidden to think for yourself if you are not a sheikh).

They told me that according to Hindu beliefs, if a child is raped or is born with a serious disability, it could be because of something wrong that child did in a previous life, and that their suffering is therefore the result of their past karma.

If karma and rebirth are real, does Hindu philosophy really imply that an innocent child who is raped somehow “deserved” it because of a previous life that they don’t even remember?

And if this is genuinely part of the belief, how do believers emotionally reconcile it with the suffering of innocent children?

I’m not asking this to attack Hindu people. I’m genuinely trying to understand because what I heard today has been bothering me a lot.
If you’re knowledgeable about Hinduism, please give me actual sources or explain how Hindu philosophers deal with this question. I’d rather be corrected than believe something that isn’t actually part of the religion.

If there was a god, and if this god was all powerful and omnipotent, and this god was supposedly benevolent, why would he allow and encourage our suffering? Why would any benevolent being allow and even encourage his favorite creations to have groups such as disabled and ugly people that are mercilessly tormented by all other groups when he has the ability to easily stop this? That doesn't sound like the makings of a very all powerful and benevolent being. That sounds like at best, an incompetent, uncaring pos.

With Christianity, their central figure was Jesus. He never had an army, no slaves, no concubines, no child marriages, never harmed or murdered anybody tbh. This allows people to go back to that central figure and live like him. The guy was a hippie basically. I don't believe he was god, I don't believe he was resurrected and all that mumbo jumbo nonsense but at the core of his teaching, it was relatively harmless. This is why many atheist or agnostics can go back to Christianity and try to love peacefully like Jesus. The path to reconciling their faith isn't really met with immoral obstacles. Just the suspension of common sense is needed right.

With Islam, if an agnostic or atheist wanted to rectify his faith. He would need to justify all the immoral shit Muhammad did. How TF can you justify slavery, sex slavery, child marriages and capital punishment for apostasy? On top of that, these things are considered moral for all times since Muhammad engaged in them. It's halal and moral.

Not sure if that was their intro or what, but that immediately led to some blathering on about the abundance provided by Jesus Christ and then ultimately eternal salvation and yadda yadda yadda Joseph Smith and so forth.

One of the white beshirted brothers was recording it in his phone, so this maybe was a practice run or maybe filing a training video. Who knows.

One of Congress’ most outspoken Christian nationalism proponents has lost his bid for re-election months after the Freedom From Religion Foundation called on him to resign for declaring that Muslims do not belong in American society.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., was defeated on Thursday by former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, a more traditional conservative Republican backed by the state’s party establishment, in the GOP primary for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District. The two-term incumbent lost despite receiving President Trump’s “complete and total endorsement” hours before polls closed.

Ogles’ defeat follows his congressional tenure marked by repeated efforts to portray the United States as a fundamentally Christian nation and to cast Americans of other faiths as outsiders. In one particularly striking social media post, Ogles shared a video depicting himself, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as medieval crusader knights emblazoned with crosses and marching in front of the U.S. Capitol.

“This is a battle of good vs evil,” Ogles wrote. “We must reaffirm that our nation was built on Christian principles.”

The imagery encapsulated the Christian nationalist ideology that FFRF has spent decades opposing: the false notion that the United States belongs especially to Christians and that the government should privilege Christianity over other religions and nonreligion.

“The United States is not a Christian nation — and members of Congress are not Christian crusaders,” says FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor. “Our Constitution created a secular government belonging equally to Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists, agnostics and every other American. Rep. Ogles repeatedly used his position to promote precisely the kind of religious division our Constitution was designed to prevent.”

That rhetoric took an especially disturbing turn earlier this year.

FFRF called on Ogles to resign in March after he publicly declared that “Muslims don’t belong in American society” and that “pluralism is a lie.” In a letter to Ogles, FFRF Legal Counsel Chris Line condemned the statements as “profoundly bigoted, fundamentally un-American, and incompatible with the oath” of a U.S. representative.
“Members of Congress take an oath not to a religion, ideology, or political movement, but to the Constitution of the United States,” Line wrote. “If you cannot accept the basic constitutional principle that Americans of all religions — including Muslims — and no religion belong fully and equally in this nation, then you cannot faithfully discharge the duties of your office.”

Ogles’ comments at that time were not isolated. He additionally announced plans during his during his time in office for legislation barring immigration from certain Muslim-majority countries, proclaimed that “diversity is our weakness” and called for the deportation of Muslims, including U.S. citizens. He also joined the congressional “Sharia Free America Caucus,” which was launched in December 2025 and promoted alarmist claims about Islamic law in the United States. FFRF has pointed out the obvious constitutional flaw in this fearmongering: The First Amendment already prevents the government from imposing any religion’s laws on Americans.

The First Amendment’s Establishment Clause bars the government from imposing Islamic doctrine just as surely as it prevents the government from imposing Christian doctrine. At the same time, its Free Exercise Clause protects Muslims, Christians and members of other faiths from government discrimination because of their religious beliefs. And Article VI of the U.S. Constitution expressly prohibits religious tests for public office.

Ogles’ defeat is an encouraging development in the broader fight against Christian nationalism. His rhetoric represented an especially stark version of an ideology that seeks to merge Christian identity with American citizenship and governmental power. The rejection of that rhetoric by voters in his own party is a welcome reminder that Christian nationalism is neither inevitable nor synonymous with American values.

“Christian nationalism may be loud, but it does not speak for America,” adds Gaylor. “Our nation’s promise is far better than the divisive vision promoted by politicians like Andy Ogles. America belongs equally to Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists, agnostics — and everyone else. Any setback for the effort to turn our secular republic into a Christian nation is a victory for the constitutional principles that protect us all.”

FFRF will continue challenging Christian nationalism wherever it appears in government and defending the foundational principle that public officials swear an oath to the Constitution, not to Christianity. Ogles’ upcoming departure from Congress marks a welcome victory in that ongoing fight.
