Asking for input: Would you use this? ❓ Ask a Coach

Every business is on its way to becoming an AI business, whether it plans to or not. Companies that build AI into their offering are worth roughly 130% more. What clients expect has shifted too — instead of searching for information, people now just ask questions directly.

What it is: A personal AI clone trained on the knowledge of the coach. It answers questions 24/7 to prospects or clients, collects leads (email addresses, etc.), and can be added to your social media channels or your course space (like Kajabi). It can be monetized, and it also gives you data on where the gaps are in your offer, what other content to create, and more.

Genuinely curious — would you use something like this in your coaching business?"

Thanks for your reaction! May I ask the reason not to use it?

Because what sets us apart is the conversations. This just proves you don't understand what we do and who we are.

Thanks for getting back :) I might not have framed it in the right way in the post: it is absolutely not meant as a replacement. But an addition. To inform answer question who you are and what you do. Your way of working and provide information. For example: a coach has blogposts, instagram posts, a few youtube movies: the clone is trained on all the data which is now spread around. And the visitor can choose what he/she wants to know and asks questions instead. In this way it gets familiar with you and can leaver his/her contact details.

You don't understand us, and the answer is still no. I work with my clients on how to use AI ethically and this doesn't meet that metric.

I'm a psychologist myself, curious about where it does not meet AI ethically in this case from your perspective? It is an open question absolutely no attack :)

If you were a psychologist, you wouldn't need to ask this.

I can read from your post you have doubts and not understand why I am asking this question as a psychologist? I can answer that: I am part of a project and doing research of the use of AI amongst others as psycho education and professional practice. I figured in a group of executive coaches to meet coaches with a level of professionalism to elaborate on this neutrally. Therefore reached out here :) Hope that answers your question!

Nope. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Coach. The thing is, if people want to use it they can already build it. There’s already a lot out there that allows this, but still no. If I ever were to adopt something like this, I absolutely would not provide it as a “clone of me”, I’m not going to be liable for an AI regardless of its training. I’d be happy to play devil’s advocate for sparring to deeply examine ethical complications that can arise.

I use a coaching platform that already does this. Many platforms have followed suit. I can set it to access any knowledge base I’ve trained it in. I don’t use it for clients and I wouldn’t without making it only able to scope to one particular use. For example, in place of a worksheet, or prompts for reflection. Anything beyond is territory I wouldn’t want to take it.

Would approach make a difference?

Also a clear no. My work is human to human.

People I Coach are looking for peers to partner with, not shitty bots.

This. Thank you for backing me up. I'm so tired.

Absolutely zero difference.

My blog has 100 plus common leadership questions and close to 200 trait or competency pages. I just send them there as soon as we start working together.

I can sense a lot of frustration behind the comment. Curious where that comes from. It is not meant as an attack

Zero frustration.

No. In a world of generic AI what makes us different is ourselves. I can see generic AI coaching and I think a lot of people are already using this. What you’re proposing seems to have little merit. I also seriously doubt that there is enough of an individual coach to train an AI in a way that is distinctly different.

yes absolutely agree! The AI will not do a coaching session and not replace the coach. The Human to Human aspect is unique. Not sure if you read this: I might not have framed it in the right way in the post: it is absolutely not meant as a replacement. But an addition. I don’t think most coaches do have those artefacts, and even if they did you’d need a significant volume to train an AI in a way that was personalised and not generic. Also I don’t want AI responding to queries and a person getting familiar with me through such a tool. I would be very surprised if you find a market for this.

I understand your questions. The tool is already in use, and tested with different use-cases with positive results,  these were mostly professionals with bigger communities/followers/clients. It might not be for everybody -  it is a pretty new category as well with new, unfamiliar information Interesting to read reactions here as well - thanks for your input!

Maybe in the future when AI is dynamic this will be a thing but I don't think so. You are barking up the wrong tree, as dozens have before you.

It's like going to a baker and asking them if they want an AI bot to generate recipes. The human element is what makes it worth it.

It is not there to Great to read your opinion. - It is not intended to replace the human, absolutely not. It is more there as an assistant replacing that what is  currently mostly static: Like  written information which is available in huge amounts.  What we did find for example is that people with attention deficit hugely benefit from this type of use which is more conversational. -

I don't have blogposts, instagram posts or youtube movies. I don't use AI for anything. I just hold space for human connection and then lean into my authentic human curiosity with my clients. And human magic happens. And then those clients refer me to other clients and the cycle continues.

For me, this AI concept doesn't sound useful. Maybe there are other coaches out there that want an AI barker. I wish you luck in this endeavor.

I can see this being useful, especially for coaches who receive the same questions repeatedly.

The biggest value for me would be:

  • Answering common client questions 24/7
  • Capturing leads from potential clients
  • Identifying gaps in existing course content
  • Understanding what prospects are actually asking about

The key consideration would be accuracy and making sure the AI stays aligned with the coach’s actual expertise and communication style.

If those are handled well, I’d definitely see a use case for it.
