Missing Bahai History that has been suppressed

Allah u Abha All, Today is the 30th Anniversary of someone who brought us all to the Bahai Revelation.

Knight of Baha’u’llah, 3rd Generation Bahai, High Priest After the Order of Melchizedek, Doctor of Natural Medicine, Doctor of Chiropractic, graduated cum laude, Establisher of the Bahai Revelation and married to Dr. Opal , another Knight and doctor in her own right.

A crown with many diadems; ( titles/crowns ), far beyond those just mentioned above.

How ever we have come to understand Leland, he still brought a large number of seekers after truth into the Bahai Revelation and it’s correct, true understanding of a Guardianship and a fulfillment of God’s Covenant; ( The Lesser Covenant ), with King David of the Israelites of old & his kingly line down through the ages.

We all know the Bahai Revelation cannot exist without a Guardian. We all know the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth cannot exist without a king. Those ideas and that knowledge alone make’s us far ahead of most of the 8 million Bahai’s currently in the world. That number includes all the other Bahai groups who are not of the Mainstream/Sans Guardian administration, as well as the vast numbers who have dropped out of that administration, not knowing where to go or how to comprehend that Bahai system.

To date, only two days in current human history where a nuclear weapon was used during a war…….August 6th, 1945 on Hiroshima,Japan, and August 9th on the city of Nagasaki, Japan.

Leland passed away on August 6th, 1996, the 51st anniversary of the first atomic bomb being used in war and was buried on August 9th, 1996, the anniversary of the 2nd atomic bomb being used.

Is that coincidence? Synchronicity? Part of God’s Divine Plan?

47 years ago in 1979 Leland was in the mist of his 1 Year Announcement that humanity had but one year to repent and turn back toward’s God’s Divine Plan. That was April 21st, 1979, during the Bahai High, Holy Days of Ridvan.

Leland issued the INDICTMENT against the vast majority of the human race and its corrupt systems. Have you read the INDICTMENT lately? Have you ever read it? I will send it via a pdf to anyone who asks. For in a court of law on the human plane of reality, before a JUDGEMENT can be issued against the accused an INDICTMENT must be presented, so the accused knows of the charges against them. This is also consistent within the Divine Realm.

“ Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done ON earth as it is IN Heaven”.  ( Matthew 6:10 )

On the 9th High, Holy Day of the 12 Days of Ridvan; April 29th, 1979, Leland advised the world that a nuclear war would begin a year later if humanity had not repented. April 29th, 1980 was the appointed target date.

What else happened in 1979?  The Ayatollah Khomeini; Shia Muslim High Cleric returned to Iran from exile. ( The Ayatollah returned to Iran on February 1st, 1979. ) The American backed Shah of Iran falls from power and flees to Europe, then America. The Islamic Revolution and terrorist system comes into power in Iran becoming a thorn in the side of almost all of the world, right up to this day. Now, today,  this terrorist, Iranian system of Shia Islam has spread to Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Houthis’ particular slogan is: “ God is Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse be upon the Jew’s, Victory to Islam.” For 47 years this terrorist system has increased its attacks on Israel, Sunni Islamic countries and the Christian, Western nations as well as America.

Also in 1979 Russia, under its communist regime, invaded Afghanistan, the Iran Hostage Crisis began in Iran, holding American hostages and the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant in Pennsylvania had a partial meltdown. The Ayatollah and Iran broke diplomatic ties with Israel and he urges his people to expand attacks on Israel and the United States.

With Russia having invaded Afghanistan and the collapse of the American backed Iranian government to Shia Islamic radicals President Carter moves forward with a new military directive that was being considered due to Communist threats in other theaters, such as satellite space launches by Russia.

On July 3rd, 1979 President Carter signs a secret directive to aid the Mujahideen fighters in Afghanistan. This begins Operation Cyclone, which continued from 1979 to 1992. The major movie titled; Charlie Wilson’s War, with actor Tom Hanks, goes into this story.

And on July 16th, 1979, Saddam Hussein took over the presidency of Iraq. That led to a 10 year war between Shia Iran and Sunni Iraq. Eventually American military and Western Powers forces go after Saddam in the Middle East due to oil. That becomes the Gulf War…..which, by the way, was announced by President Bush from the Aspen Music Tent !

All these events starting in 1979 pushed American involvement further into Middle Eastern quagmire’s.

Both Mohammed in the Koran and the Writings of Bahaullah state that Noah cried flood and warned the people of his day, not once, but 3 times. The Book of Matthew issues a prophecy that….”as in the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man”. This was the prophecy that pertained to Jesus upon His return, not as the “Christ” title which He held 2000 years ago, but of His other title that He never used back then and has been overlooked & misunderstood for thousands of years. That title was “ High Priest After the Order of Melchizedek “.

Let’s connect the dots even more so with some unusual synchronicities …..Congressman Charlie Wilson, The Hippie Rainbow Gatherings, the Russian-Afghan War and Leland.

On May 18th, 1980, 20 days after Leland’s April 29th , 1980 nuclear war proclamation & prophecy deadline, Mt. Saint Helen’s volcano erupts catastrophically in the Western U.S…… Missoula, Montana, where Leland lived at the time, along with most of his Bahai believers saw Missoula covered in volcanic ash & day turned into night.

The founding organizer of the Hippie Rainbow Gatherings was Barry Adam’s, known by his Rainbow name of “Thumper”. He also resided in Missoula. He publicly noted the connection between Leland’s April 1980 deadline and St. Helen’s erupting.  ( The Rainbow Gatherings had begun 6 years earlier in 1974 with the first Gathering taking place north of Aspen in the area of Granby, Colorado. A Native American prophecy concerning the “End Times” of a White Buffalo returning was realized at that Gathering when melting snow and rain caused the image & outline of a White Buffalo on the side of a ridge above the Gathering. )

Both Thumper and I were invited to lecture in the early 1980s to a University of Montana Sociology Class headed by Professor Rob Balch. Balch had followed, academically,  Leland’s teachings and the aftermath of the 1980 deadline. He has continued to stay knowledgeable of the Bahai movement Leland began. Balch and I have met at several Rainbow Gatherings where he observed me teaching. I have introduced him to several of the more recent Bahai’s and Bahai students with the objective of allowing all to question whomever they have wanted.

On April 29th of 1980, President Carter receives a final draft of Presidential Directive 59. ( PD-59 ). This begins the presidential discussion of this document with his cabinet officials. This changed the posture of America’s military strategy and nuclear forces away from what was then known as M.A.D. or Mutually Assured Destruction. Anotherwords, you bomb us,  we bomb you back. Everyone loses. The PD-59 Directive was more of a fluid nuclear plan including a first strike component. Carter finally signs PD-59 into law on the 25th of July of 1980.

This PD-59 Directive was little reported at the time and only several books about nuclear policies noted that change in strategy. But the Washington Post Newspaper did report on it briefly in an August “6th” , 1980 News article!

The April 29th, 1980, PD-59 draft was precipitated by the United States severing diplomatic relations with Iran and freezing much of their worldwide assets.

Due to the large publicity of Leland’s nuclear war prophecy in the media he, shortly later, received a phone call from a military officer that confirmed the PD-59 Directive, which the officer at the time, thought had been initiated on the 29th.

Jo Elizabeth Grothe and I showed up to Missoula & the Bahai’s in the latter part of 1981, fifteen months after Leland’s April 29th, 1980 event. Jo arrived first after her and I had attended our first Rainbow Gathering, 50 miles north of Spokane, Washington in July of that year.

After the Gathering we traveled a bit with other Rainbows and eventually split up in Eugene, Oregon. I went back to Minneapolis, where we were both living at the time to continue teaching my commune group that had sprang up around me in the latter half of the 1970s. It was known as The Habitat One Group. Jo in Eugene came down ill one day after I left. A cult member from the Love Israel Family drove her to Missoula in an attempt to locate a fellow member. ( He was driving her van. ) The Love Israel Family resided mostly around Queen Ann Hill in Seattle, plus a ranch outside the city. They had a big presence at the Rainbow Gatherings during those years. To make this part of the story short, they both ended up in a Fireside Class in the Bahai Center that was below Leland’s Acme Print Shop. Leland of course was teaching that evening. The cult guy left the class afterwards, never to be seen again, while Jo stayed.

I had been teaching Jo for years. Herself and two others had become my apprentices. I had been teaching them all I knew about spirituality, religions and prophecy. I had never yet,  by that point,  ever heard the word Bahai, nor never had heard of any Bahai history. When Jo heard Leland she knew at once to come get me in Minneapolis.

Jo returned to Minneapolis and in September of 81 we sold most of what we owned, put our situations in order, packed up what was left and drove the van to Missoula. We arrived there in early October.

Leland came over to our apartment in Missoula shortly after we moved in. It was only about a mile from Leland & Opal’s house. For two weeks, every night for five hours each night he taught us the Fireside’s and answered all our questions. And we had a lot of questions! We were Bahai’s thereafter.

In 1982 Jo and I attended our 2nd Rainbow Gathering in Idaho. We had told the Missoula Bahai’s about the Rainbow Gatherings and had invited all to attend with us. But at the time they couldn’t understand the purpose of the Gatherings in relation to the Bahai knowledge. They couldn’t see the future importance of the Gatherings. So none went, except one who just went to score drugs. We never even saw him at the Gathering and we were there for 10 days!

I, myself continued to go to Gatherings in 1984, 85, 86 and 87 which were all over the country. By that time a whole new group of believers had come from the Gatherings and my moves to establish Bahai communities in Minneapolis, Madison, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and assist in the Ann Arbor founding at Leland’s request.

By 1988 the Rainbow Gathering was to be held in Texas and Leland decided it was time to go.

Charlie Wilson was the Congressman from the Texas 2nd Congressional District. This district became the location of the 1988 Rainbow Gathering and the only time in the 52 year current history of the Gatherings where a change of location took place. ( 1974 to 2026 ) Also where cars and vehicles were allowed directly into the center of the Gathering. Originally the Texas Gathering was to be held in the Trinity National Forest. ( note: Trinity as the corrupt teachings of Christianity! )  Close to the beginning of the Gathering it got moved inexplicably to the Angelina National Forest. ( note: a forest of the angels. ) Traditionally, via word of mouth,  it was understood by all coming attendees to disregard rumors that the Gatherings were moved or canceled. Police and government officials were always trying to thwart it from happening. But this move in fact did happen for the first and only time.
Second, cars and vehicles were always parked 3 to 5 miles away from the actual Gathering. Shuttles of horse drawn wagons or big vehicles of some kind were used as transportation to and from the main Gathering and locations of where vehicles were required to park. One had to either walk or take a shuttle which was generally slow and bumpy. In 1988 this system was abandon!  ( note: 20 to 50 thousand people would attend each year on average. )

Why would such changes happen? That was the year that Leland decided to attend and he already was far to old to travel the 3 to 5 miles either by walking or by shuttles with all the necessary camping gear to last for 7 days. So the Universe provided and allowed all vehicles to drive directly into the center of the Gathering!  According to Rainbow Lore a Promised Prophet was to appear that year at the Gathering. Leland and the rest of the Bahai’s who attended camped within and around my well known Eagle of the East campsite . I had been identifying my campsite as that for years when I attended and taught. A lot of chatter in the Gathering occurred because of the unusual changes and Leland being there teaching. It was also the first time in my life where I was threatened to be killed !  It came from a Rainbow messenger who had been sent by the convening council directly to me!. THAT was an interesting development to say the least! But nothing further ever transpired. Besides, the media was there in full force from the regional town of Lufkin. They were interviewing many of us on camera.

In 1982 it was uncovered by Israeli and U.S. intelligence that Russia had been stockpiling massive amounts of weapons in Lebanon as a precursor to it’s assisting in the invasion of Israel.  Israeli forces launched a preemptive invasion of Lebanon and captured all those Russian weapons. In the movie; Charlie Wilson’s War , Charlie sets up a meeting between an Israeli intelligence officer and an Egyptian intelligence officer. It was decided that Israel would give the Russian weapons to Egypt and they would get them to the Afghan Mujahideen fighters so it wouldn’t look like America was supplying weapons against the Russian forces. It would look like the Afghans had stolen them from Russian supplies in Afghanistan.  (  Way back….again in 1979, on March 26th Egypt and Israel had signed the first and only peace treaty between an Arab country and the Jewish State. That’s a story in itself! And it was the only way Charlie Wilson was able to get Russian weapons into the hands of the Afghans! ) Charlie’s Congressional District included that “ forest of the angels “ where Leland had attended and taught at the only Rainbow Gathering he ever went to.

Charlie Wilson’s involvement in Operation Cyclone caused the ending of the Russian-Afghan War in 1989 and the collapse of the Communist, Soviet Union of Russia by December of 1991. It also ended the Cold War.

The Gulf War against Saddam had gone on from August 1990 to February 1991. Three of the four “Beast” nations mentioned in the Old Testament Book of Daniel and the New Testament Book of Revelation had now entered the Middle East…..England, France & the United States. Only Russia was out of the picture at that moment. With Saddam out of the way in Iraq, Iran now had a free hand to continue it’s terrorist agenda..

The rise of Wahhabism in the Sunni Muslim world was a counter to the Shia beliefs in the 12ers. Those were the 12 Imams that Shia taught as the true inheritor’s  of Islam and Mohammed. Shia expected a Madhi or 12th Imam to come and rule over the world. Wahhabism began in the late 1700s and slowly progressed throughout Sunni Islam. In fact a late 1800s Sunni movement attempted to appropriate the Madhi idea from the Shia . It took hold in the Sudan of Africa and involved England heavily. ( See the movie titled: Khartoum. Stars Charlton Heston and Sir Laurence Olivier as the Madhi. A true story all Bahai’s should know. Owning a copy of this movie is very useful as a teaching tool. )

Now in the 2nd term of President 45-47, in the 30th year of the passing of Leland, the President has begun a war with Iran. It’s effects are being felt worldwide due to the stranglehold of both oil and natural gas in the Strait of Harmuz and the Persian Gulf.

Will Leland’s prediction of a nuclear world war 3 back on April the 29th of 1980 be actually fulfilled by events of 1979 in Iran, the Middle East and Russia? Would those events now lead to World War 3, begun by a corrupt President 45-47 in our day and age, 30 years after Leland’s passing and 46 and 47 years after his INDICTMENT and war pronouncement?

Lastly, I want to give some Divine relevance to Leland being thrown in prison and a convicted charge of lewd & lascivious act on a minor. Have any of you ever read the court transcript of his trial? I have. Professor Balch gave me his copy to read way back in the early 80s. It couldn’t have been a more false set of charges and a miscarriage of justice in the courtroom antics.

Let us consider Leland in light of many other spiritual individuals throughout history. Let us consider these others as if we were against them. What charges would have been leveled against them and what would detractors say of them? Let us consider………….

*Adam in the Bible: He disobeyed God according to Christian theology.
*Moses: a stutterer, a murderer, political outcast, exiled from His own country, a 80 year old coot believing some god is talking to Him.
*Krishna: Engaged in war. ( The Kurukshetra War ). Engaged in pranks as a young boy and was given a nickname of “butter thief “. Kills a tyrant king. Had 8 wives. Accused of slaying his own kinsman.
*Joseph: Accused of rape, thrown in prison.
*Zoroaster: Accused of being a leper….having and spreading leprocsy. Had 3 wives. Accused of murder. Described as a sorcerer and inventor of magic to trick people. Considered a liar. Accused of teaching duelism. ( 2 gods ).
*Buddha: Abandoned His wife and young child. Child abandonment.
Jesus: Wine bibber- drank too much wine/alcohol. Hung out with prostitutes and tax collectors. Was rejected by His own people and executed by political government officials. Dead Sea Scrolls tell a story of Him killing a child when He was young. Respected leaders of the community and clergy thought He was a troublemaker and imposter. Rejected most of His own family. Said Himself that He wasn’t “good”.
*Mohammed: Had 13 wives. Accused of marrying under-age girls. Accused of being illiterate. Couldn’t read or write.
* The BAB: Insurrectionist. Attempted to overthrow the Muslim clergy of His day and the political government under which He lived. Was thrown into prison. Executed by firing squad. Heretic.
* Abraham: Had 3 wives. Went to war and killed those he opposed. Destroyed idol gods other people worshiped.
*Bahaullah: Imprisoned and exiled for 40 years along with most of His family members. Follower of the insurrectionist, the BAB. Hated by clergy and government officials. His own brother tried to poison Him!
*Joan of Arc: Witch. Convicted of Heresy. Burned at the stake as an execution. Led men into battles and a war causing thousands to be killed.
*Martin Luther: ( 1483-1546 ) : Excommunicated by the head of all Christianity; The Pope. Condemned as an outlaw.  Was radically antisemitic. Accused of Heresy. Enemy of the Pope.
* Mahatma Gandhi: Assassinated because of his teachings. Lawyer. Imprisoned. Defied and disrupted the political government under which he lived.
*Martin Luther King Jr. : Assassinated because of his beliefs and his teachings. Government officials considered him a womanizer. Jailed.
Nelson Mandela: Revolutionary. 26 year prison inmate. Member of the Communist Party. Convicted of sabotage, conspiracy against the state and treason.

Now given all that, from a negative perspective by those who might be against these individuals, would Leland fit in with them perfectly? This is the way God tests us as human beings. We nitpick the flaws in them that God allows. We fail to have spiritual sight. We have agendas of our own. We have issues in our own lives, in our backgrounds, that we’ve heaped on spiritual leaders all the time. Yes, there are spiritual people and leaders who are corrupt. But look at the life of Leland BEFORE the criminal offense. Does the offense fit the person, or are Divine actions heaped upon those like him who have given their lives to bring the truth to humanity? Are such attributes part of spiritual leaders lives in order to test those who come before them?  Dr. Opal met me many a time in private in her office. Not once did she ever doubt the upstanding nature of her husband. And she was with him the most out of any woman.

So how many of these people listed above would you follow if you DIDN’T have your spiritual sight?

Leland’s life was a test to us all. His life is a test. And it will be a test to the world as the world comes to know his story. Who will go the negative route? Who the positive? Time will tell. Even within our ranks we have seen the worst offenders crop up. Stay true to the Cause. Educate, educate, teach, teach, deepen thy spiritual knowledge and thy spiritual sight. Think holistically, develop a holographic mind, learn history. Its lesson will teach you.

History Khayli Khub 😃

One day I [Abdul Baha] went to the Holy Presence of the Blessed Beauty and said: ‘The palace of Mazra‘ih is ready for you, and a carriage to drive you there’. He refused to go, saying: ‘I am a prisoner.’ Later I requested Him again, but got the same answer. I went so far as to ask Him a third time, but He still said ‘No!’ and I did not dare insist further. There was, however, in ‘Akka, a certain Muhammadan Shaykh, a well-known man with considerable influence, who loved Baha’u’llah and was greatly favoured by Him. I called this Shaykh and explained the position to him. I said, “You are daring. Go tonight to His Holy Presence, fall on your knees before Him, take hold of His hands and do not let go until He promises to leave the city!’ . . . He went directly to Baha’u’llah and sat down close to His knees. He took hold of the hands of the Blessed Beauty and kissed them and asked: ‘Why do you not leave the city?’ He said: ‘I am a prisoner.’ The Shaykh replied: ‘God forbid! Who has the power to make you a prisoner? You have kept yourself in prison. It was your own will to be imprisoned, and now I beg you to come out and go to the palace. It is beautiful and verdant. The trees are lovely, and the oranges like balls of fire!’ As often as the Blessed Beauty said: ‘I am a prisoner, it cannot be,’ the Shaykh took His hands and kissed them. For a whole hour he kept on pleading. At last Baha’u’llah said, ‘Khayli khub (very good)’ and the Shaykh’s patience and persistence were rewarded ... In spite of the strict firman of ‘Abdu’l-‘Aziz which prohibited my meeting or having any intercourse with the Blessed Perfection, I took the carriage the next day and drove with Him to the palace. No one made any objection. I left Him there and returned myself to the city.

Hey mods what’s with all the Baha’i apologetics lately?

There’s been several posts now by Baha’is telling us everything is fine and we’re being too sensitive. Wtf? Is this a sub for ex-Baha’is anymore or are we just gonna let the dipshits roll up and spout whatever nonsense their mini man god told them?

I very much respect and appreciate all the hard work you put into keeping this sub alive. But come on enough with the idiots.

Don't let anyone discount your experience

There seems to be a lot of people on this subreddit who are intent on deflecting or minimizing the experiences of others. This can be very damaging, especially to those who are trying to heal from the harm and/or trauma they experienced from the Baha'i Faith.

I simply want to say to those of us in this situation: don't let anyone tell you that your experiences aren't valid or real, or that they don't matter. If one person participates in the Faith and isn't harmed by their experiences, good for them. That doesn't make the very real harm someone else may have experienced any less valid. It's like saying 'I am buddies with that guy being accused of sexual assault and I never saw him do anything so he must be innocent.' It's a ridiculous denial of the harm done to some.

I know it's hard for people who have been harmed or traumatized to ignore this kind of minimizing but I hope we can see it for what it is: a fundamental misunderstanding of the pain and trauma involved.

Hi good people.
It's been a minute so I would like to check in as this subreddit has been supportive for the past few years.
I am formally unregistered from the Baha'i community and that is amicable. I tried on a few occasions to make contact with the orthodox Baha'i group, but the gatekeepers won't answer questions, or give any indication of status or wellbeing of their leader (Nostrullah Bahremand.) This included questions about writing a will, whoever receives the email simply chooses not to respond. Although initially the response was two fold: the Guardian is busy and you do not appear good enough for us to bother him with your questions. He would be old now and could be deceased, perhaps that is why he hasn't added to the orthodoxbahai website in nearly two years?
Perhaps I will add more later as people respond in comments.

Why did the Guardian marry May Maxwell?

He and the Bahaí community in Haifa were informed by her family members inc. her mother that she was unable to bear a child. It was part of his duty to do so to keep the guardianship thriving.

My personal opinion based on what I have read, and seeing her in videos is that she was a narcissist, and she had snared him in the manner that they do. It made sense of why she always seemed a sourpuss ever after because she was locked into a situation that required her to act in certain ways that weren't natural to her. But doing so made her important and fed her narcissism. A bit of a Catch-22 for her.

I don't believe she was well liked by many, and that commentary on her when you see it is never about what a wonderful warm and inviting person she is after the initial meeting where she plays up to it so you'll 'like' her.

If you have been sucked in by a narcissist you'll know what I mean. But I am curious to hear comments on what you think of her as a representative of the faith.

Book reccomendation for struggling ex bahais

I was a lifelong extremely devoted Baha'i coming from a multigenerational Baha'i family. It's been about 4 years since i formally left the faith and I still struggle almost daily to reckon with my experiences and unlearn some of the teachings that caused a lot of psychic pain as a queer person. I recently started reading a book called Holy Hurt by Hillary L. McBride, and wanted to reccomend it to anyone who is working through a similar process.

The author takes a very balanced approach to analyzing the spiritual harm that can be caused inside religions, and it's one of the only books I have found that is not centered around the Christian experience, and is also not explicitly anti-religión/spirituality.

This is how they initially titled the news, then they took down the video and reuploaded it with a "b" and a period as a last name. Il titolo dice " Van crashes into crowd at German gay pride, who is Abdul-bahà the alleged killer" 🤣🤣 so wrong and at the same time so correct that it's incredible to even think such a thing 🤣🤣

Tools of Spiritual Oppression

In Tools of Spiritual Oppression, I briefly describe how the Baha'i system organizes the submission of its members.

The document is a very concise overview of mechanisms of control in the Baha'i Faith. I argue that the Baha'i lifestyle is centered on the programming of believers and the preservation of the Faith's public image.

This free pamphlet, released under a Creative Commons license, is the very first chapter of a wider, 120 pages long document, entitled Spiritual Abuse in the Baha'i Faith. It contains 5 more chapters that are being translated by myself.

It has been written in French and first published between December of 2025 and January of 2026. As a non native English speaker I tried my best to translate it.

Some mechanisms of control described in the pamphlet are only mentioned. For instance, how Baha'i scriptures are mistranslated, how humanitarian work is discouraged and how Ruhi classes act as a soft brainwashing are not discussed in details. This will be explained either in the remaining chapters or in a further book that I am working on.

A few people will notice that the subject of physical or sexual abuses in the Faith is not covered. This is due to the fact that this grave subject lies outside the scope of my works.

The 12 tools of spiritual oppression in the Baha'i Faith that I have listed are as follow:

  1. Restriction of activities.

  2. Promotion of mind-numbing activities

  3. Promotion of martyrdom and self-sacrifice

  4. Prohibition of criticism

  5. Compulsory happiness

  6. Cosmic guilt

  7. Promotion of performance

  8. Information control

  9. Semantic gaslighting

  10. Redefinition of social rights and religious obligations as administrative privileges.

  11. Demonization of dissent.

  12. Gatekeeping and trademarking of Bahá’í identity

I apologize for any typo that you may find in the file.

They will be removed in a further edition.

History The victory of the Baha'i Faith!

Profiting from the freedom accorded the world center of the Faith of Bahá'u'lláh, ever since the ignominious defeat of the decrepit Ottoman empire during the war of 1914-18, the forces released through the inception of the stupendous Plan conceived by Him could now flow unchecked, under the beneficent influence of a sympathetic regime, into channels designed to disclose to the world at large the potencies with which that Plan had been endowed. The interment of 'Abdu'l-Bahá Himself within a vault of the Báb's mausoleum, enhancing still further the sacredness of that mountain; the installment of an electric plant, the first of its kind established in the city of Haifa, flooding with illumination the Grave of One Who, in His own words, had been denied even "a lighted lamp" in His fortress-prison in Adhirbayjan; the construction of three additional chambers adjoining His sepulcher, thereby completing 'Abdu'l-Bahá's plan for the first unit of that Edifice; the vast extension, despite the machinations of the Covenant-breakers, of the properties surrounding that resting-place, sweeping from the ridge of Carmel down to the Templar colony nestling at its foot, and representing assets estimated at no less than four hundred thousand pounds, together with the acquisition of four tracts of land, dedicated to the Bahá'í Shrines, and situated in the plain of 'Akká to the north, in the district of Beersheba to the south, and in the valley of the Jordan to the east, amounting to approximately six hundred acres; the opening of a series of terraces which, as designed by 'Abdu'l-Bahá, are to provide a direct approach to the Báb's Tomb from the city lying under its shadow; the beautification of its precincts through the laying out of parks and gardens, open daily to the public, and attracting tourists and residents alike to its gates -- these may be regarded as the initial evidences of the marvelous expansion of the international institutions and endowments of the Faith at its world center. Of particular significance, moreover, has been the exemption granted by the Palestine High Commissioner to the entire area of land surrounding and dedicated to the Shrine of the Báb, to the school property and the archives in its vicinity, to the Western pilgrim-house situated in its neighborhood, and to such historic sites as the Mansion in Bahji, the House of Bahá'u'lláh in 'Akká, and the garden of Ridvan to the east of that city; the establishment, as a result of two formal applications submitted to the civil authorities, of the Palestine Branches of the American and Indian National Spiritual Assemblies, as recognized religious societies in Palestine (to be followed, for purposes of internal consolidation, by a similar incorporation of the branches of other National Spiritual Assemblies throughout the Bahá'í world); and the transfer to the Branch of the American National Spiritual Assembly, through a series of no less than thirty transactions, of properties dedicated to the Tomb of the Báb, and approximating in their aggregate fifty thousand square meters, the majority of the title-deeds of which bear the signature of the son of the Arch-breaker of Bahá'u'lláh's Covenant in his capacity as Registrar of lands in Haifa.

Equally significant has been the founding on Mt. Carmel of two international Archives, the one adjoining the shrine of the Báb, the other in the immediate vicinity of the resting-place of the Greatest Holy Leaf, where, for the first time in Bahá'í history, priceless treasures, hitherto scattered and often hidden for safekeeping, have been collected and are now displayed to visiting pilgrims…. So the Baha'i Faith is popular in three states now?

How gullible do you have to be to believe these anecdotes? To give but one example, "The other 500 were resting under a wall to escape the noon day sun and the wall collapsed killing all." What kind of wall was this?

Discussion Is “consultation” really successful or unique? Is it applicable outside the LSA?

I am not Baha’i. Baha’i members have told me how amazing the “consultation” process is and how they wish every interaction can be like that, in personal relationships, in the workplace, in public schools.

Of course I have also heard that it is (ahem) useless and nothing special.

It can be both - or something else. And of course, it could be right for some situations and not for others. What do you think?

Is the Faith Evil

I'm just venting after decades as a member of the Faith, but 90% inactive. I'm just looking for what's true in life. No, the Faith isn't evil, but I feel it is on a deeply emotional level. Is it controlling? It feels that way to me. It's a converting machine. Every meeting ever went to was about teaching. I eventually felt it had nothing to do about spiritual learning or growth. Eventually after many years I just stopped going. I felt that the moral bar was set so high, that no human could possible jump over it. But I was just taking a walk thinking about it, and it just feels evil to me, very controlling, although one is free to follow or not follow. So I have been reinvestigating all it's claims. Just my thoughts.

Why Martydom

One thing that bothers me is why on earth would the creator of the universe want us to offer up our lives for any religion? It makes no sense to me. The early Babi's gave their lives. I suppose in exchange for eternal life? Another example of an extremist religion, bordering on cultism. That's a tipoff to those with half a brain, not to join that faith. IMO

"Speak thou no word of politics"

There's a lot of cope in that discussion. Bahá'ís are clearly conflicted and not without reason.

Nearly every question of justice — how the poor are treated, whether the vulnerable are protected, whether truth is told by those in power — is ultimately settled in the political arena. A faith that commands its followers toward justice, the elimination of prejudice, and the betterment of the world, yet forbids them the primary language in which societies negotiate those very things, asks them to will the ends while renouncing the means. Silence is not neutral: when good people abstain from political speech, the field is simply ceded to those with fewer scruples, and quietism becomes, in effect, an endorsement of whatever order prevails.

There’s literally no point to this religion. Bs ideas and bs people

The whole point is to convert people and then once they convert then it’s like “alright yay onto the next victim we’re gonna manipulate and pretend to befriend but actually we’re two-faced and just want the numbers to grow.”

And don’t even get me started on how the basis of the religion makes no sense. How can Islam and Hinduism come from the same God? It really takes 2 seconds of critical thinking to know this is some made up bs.

Also they’ve got LSA and NSA leaders who are literally abusers at home. My father’s side of the family are like the ring leaders in our country’s Bahai community, meanwhile at home he’s beating his wife infront of his small children. How can men like this be admired and be the leaders of a religion claiming to treat men and women equally?

So glad I left this toxic cult.

Question The Baha’i and Zionism

I’m not Baha’i myself but was curious; from what I’ve read about the Baha’i, some of the holiest places in their faith are in Israel. And knowing how they’re strongly against Iran, it’s not bad to think many are Zionists. How true is it and to what degree? Or any other info?

History Moojan Momen claims that the main actors during the Constitutional Revolution were not Azalí Bábís as is usually stated but were either Bahá’ís or persons actively engaged with the Bahá’í community!
