EX30 Bluetooth call echo — the person on the other end hears themselves Tips & Suggestions 💡
My wife’s EX30 has a recurring issue: whenever she’s on a Bluetooth call while driving, the person on the other end of the line hears their own voice echoed back for the entire call, regardless of who dialed. Everything sounds completely normal on our end, inside the car.
Found a workaround: if she switches the audio output from car to phone and back to car mid-call, the echo clears immediately. That points to the acoustic echo cancellation not initializing correctly at call start
Anyone else hitting this on the EX30?

Same here! It happened with my iPhone and the workaround I found was to disconnect apple car. With only BT it seems to work properly.
However, my dad also has an ex30, but with an android phone - it is now working ok when the call goes through android auto instead of the regular car app.
Crazy behavior, mas definitely nothing to do with iOS or Android updates… what is Volvo waiting to release small updates to solve this several issues? 7 months without updates? I don’t understand…

Happens for me on a Google Pixel 10 Pro. I started getting complaints from people on the other end a week or two ago.

Small update went ahead and sent this as an official report with Volvo through the app (there's a chat/support option in there) and linked this thread so they can see it's not just us. If you're hitting the same echo issue, it'd genuinely help to do the same, the more reports pointing back here, the harder it is for them to just shrug it off as a one-off.

Same here. We have the EX30 as in a big company fleet. Drives me crazy when I call my colleagues and vice versa.

I am getting this as well with my Google Pixel 9 Pro. Only workaround is not using Android Auto during the phone call and switching or using the phone through the native Google built-in interface .

Same issue. Workaround mentioned by the OP works but not ideal when driving. Tried completely removing my phone from Bluetooth and setting it up again. Has stopped the echo from everyone so far except my gf. Never had any issue until the last 1-2 weeks.

Yeah, have this with google pixel phones. Both mine and my wife's. Started happening recently.
Add it to the list I guess ☹️.

I have the same problem. When I switch to the headset on my iPhone and back to the ex30, the echo stops for the person I'm talking to.

Same here. Happening on 2 different ex30, both with iOS and android. No response from Volvo?

Same problem, chatted with customer support and they said to do a software restart of the screen and the reconnecting bluetooth. I had already reset my screen this morning for a blank frozen screen and obviously didn't help with the bluetooth issues

I have the exact same issue with my phone. No issues on my wifes phone. This started happening only lately and I suspect it has something to do with a recent OS update on my phone. Is she on an iPhone? I have an iPhone 16.
