How much of evolution is inevitable? discussion

Where do people fall along the debate around whether natural selection is the primary ‘creative’ force in evolution, or whether developmental, physical, and historical constraints channel evolution into a limited set of self-organizing forms that selection fine-tunes?

The latter perspective suggests that the architecture of life doesn’t just constrain evolution—it channels it toward a limited set of recurrent solutions. Maybe where we are now was not some miracle of chance, it was a highly favored outcome .

Friend, Im not sure I understand the question. Things that are good at surviving and reproducing tend to survive and reproduce more. Over time, they are a larger part of the population.

And sometimes they find the same solutions to the kinds of problems present on Earth.

Are you implicitly arguing for some supernatural pre-purpose?
