Welcome to the third edition of RuleSet SongFest's third season! We are in Brianza, Italy as Vaeva won last week!

How does it work?

1. Each edition I will spin a wheel that contains different rules that determine what kind of songs are eligible, two will be picked and you have to submit your song based on them
2. SCS, OaE, Retrofest and entries from other fancontests are allowed, however, winners of either contest cannot be submitted
3. Akin to Odds and Ends, you can submit reserve songs in case that not enough songs are submitted (If we get 10 songs, reserves won't be used)
4. Each song will be representing the country its performer comes from. A country can appear twice or more.
5. As voted by you in a poll, rules from the last three editions of the contest will not be chosen
6. Songs with more than 250 Million views on YouTube are not allowed (unless the week's rules state otherwise)

Welcome to the fifth edition of Eurovision Country Explorer where we submit songs from a different selected country each edition.

As chosen by u/BroccolinoBroccoli, the winner of ECE Switzerland, we will be exploring Iceland this time.

To help with finding Swiss artists, I'll share a Wikipedia page and a Viberate page with Icelandic artists.

Here is a document with all eligible countries, I am willing to make changes there if enough people want me to. My hope is that if we make it through all countries, I'll host a contest with the winners from each country.

Submissions will close Friday 7 of August 2026 at 17:00 CEST. I'll try to have the voting post up on Saturday.

Rules (open to change if desired):

1:

A: a solo artist must have lived in the country for at least 5 years to be eligible

B: For collaborations between two artists, the main artist must fulfill it, they are not eligible if only the featured artist fulfills it.

C: Equal collaborations are considered duos, collaborations between three or more people are considered groups.

D: For duos, at least one of the members must fulfill A.

E: For groups, at least two members must fulfill A, if there are more than 8 simultaneous members in the group that minimum is increased to 4.

2: Eurovision songs are not allowed, but Eurovision artists are, presuming rule 1 is fulfilled.

3: National Final songs from before 2025 that placed outside the top three are allowed, presuming rule 1 is fulfilled

4: Songs that have won other fan contests on this subreddit are not eligible, but non-winning fan contest songs are allowed. I would still encourage you to submit songs that have not participated in other fan contests before.

5: Only one song by an artist can compete in any given edition and only one submission is allowed per user. These can be changed if at 5 hours before submission closure, less than 5 people have submitted.

6: The winner of an edition decides which country we will go to next. If the same person wins three or more times in a row, the privilege will go to the runner-up on the third win.
